Wavy vlogger went straight :(

Hi everyone,

I don't want to name names but there is a really good vlogger for wavy hair who's tutorials and reviews were always really helpful to me particuraly having a similar hair type.

To my dismay I was catching up on some watching today and found that she has had a straightening treatment, yet still giving reviews on curly products. This wouldn't be too bad in itself if she hadn't also descried her new straight hair as "perfect" and how great it is that she doesn't have to do anything to her hair now.

As someone who is trying to make the best of my curls/waves, despite the effort one has to put in, it feels really disheartening when someone who was a source of inspiration just throws in the towel and doesn't even hide it that they think straight hair is better after all.

Am I being overly sensitive?

No, I feel frustrated when someone I admire, or rather, someone who tries things and gives helpful advice, gives up.

And I think a lot of people with unpredictable hair (which I view as a positive attribute) tire of the "challenge" of changeability and just want something they can not think about. It's not something I would do, and I wonder why if she's wavy she didn't just wait until winter when waves tend to be looser or even invisible (in my case), but I don't know her hair or her struggle.

It does feel like a loss for our side when someone goes straight, imo. So I don't think your disappointment means you're being too sensitive.

On the upside, our own Chupie, a wavy, just started a blog.......

I don't even know of any wavy bloggers. So I started a blog at The Wavy Nation | A blog for those of us who fall somewhere in between… and I have a playlist of tutorials at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLy8bclCLgER5N_uVYSYZNxhBHSXAW40OQ

Yes I saw Chupies new blog! Plus Curly Penny still has some great videos.

I can understand if someone wants to go straight, its their hair at the end of the day.. But why carry on posting videos on your curly/wavy vlog site and review curly products? It doesn't make any sense!

That part is confusing. Maybe she still wants to offer help or guidance to others even though she's given up?

I have to agree with OP.
I myself went a bit blah about the person she mentions. I really loved her curly hair but the majority of her latest videos were with brushed waves or straight and then it came the straightening treatment and that was a turn off thing for me. I love watching people with curlier hair than mine that work to keep them naturally. I know it's her hair but I kinda stopped watching her videos on my feed. I adore curlypennys though!!!!

Oh I know now who. I can hardly believe that will be temporary. Maybe.

I have followed youtubers who decided to relax or keratin. I unsubscribe. I'm not mad but that wasn't what I signed up to watch so bye. Usually the blogger gets the message when they are bleeding subbies.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:
