Hello from across the pond

Hello! I'm new to this forum, but have been reading and learning some great tips on Naturally Curly for ages.

My name is Heather, I'm a 40 something English Curly and I am a 3b botticelli/corkicelli curly mop with a rat's tail. I wasn't born with curly hair, but when the hormones kicked in, my hair changed colour and texture. I suffered many years of taunts about my hair, but I am now loving and embracing my locks.

    Welcome!

I am sorry to hear about the taunting that you received while growing up, due to your hair. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having curly hair of any kind. And, its sad when others choose to only see beauty in only one type of hair (straight hair of course), and choose to put down others whose hair is the opposite of such.

Even though you had to deal with others unfortunately putting your hair down, I am so glad that you learned to rise above such. And, that now you are loving and embracing your curly locks. Kudos to you, for choosing to doing so!

Hi there are lots of us from the UK. If you are looking for product lists google for the British Curlies site. It will stop you feeling frustrated about not getting x and y product when there are plenty of products in the UK.

In regards to taunting - kids taunt you for anything. I use to walk around blind rather than wear glasses.

Luckily unlike the US it's acceptable to have curly hair on TV here.
