Anyone use witch hazel?

I just discovered witch hazel for my face! I love it - it makes my skin so soft. It is especially wonderful in the summer ... anyone else use it? Please share your recipes here! I just bought some from the drugstore but want to try one of these:

I've used witch hazel for years on my face. Interesting to me is that my 20 y-o DS (who has seen a dermatologist for years and been on many different prescriptions that work well initially and then stop working for him) recently tried the Dickinson's witch hazel individually wrapped packets (because using a bottle of the stuff and a cotton ball requires too much coordination of effort I suppose. :love2: ) and he said it's working well for him to keep his acne under control and even helping to diminish his post-acne red spots. Stocking up on those boxes of packets before he goes back to school.

I also tried Thayer's alcohol-free witch hazel in a few varieties and their formula dried my skin. Dickinson's doesn't do that to me (and it has alcohol in it).

Have had oily skin, whole life(63) Mid afternoon, for yrs (30)would use W.H. keep face clear,and all over body, after hikes, get off sticky sunscreen. I became sensitive to the Dickersons.;-( caused dermatitis. Whats cool about W.H. is it didn't disturb makeup, just cleaned ,and refreshed when working. Going to try Humphries,and Thayers( tried their rose petal one, didn't cleanse as well) in mean time ;have been using Garnier,Micellar water. cleans very well but removes makeup.and costs more$$
