Is mousse bad for your hair?

I've spent this entire summer attempting to fix my hair (2a, fine) after an over-conditioning disaster, and while the hair (FINALLY) currently feels healthy and not over-conditioned, it still isn't clumping "right."

So today after my shower, I saw some mousse (Garnier Fructis Curl Construct) that I've had for awhile and haven't used and decided to give it a shot. I added a very small amount to a section of my hair, just to see what it would do, and BOOM! It was clumping just the way I wanted!

However, I'm still unclear if mousse is bad for your hair. This Garnier stuff I just used has stuff like PROPANE listed in the ingredients (!!!) but others I've been researching (like OGX Nourishing Coconut Milk Weightless Mousse) seem better.

What's the general consensus? Yay or nay to mousse?

It's personal preference. Many mousses have propane/butane, etc as propellants. But I believe in using whatever works best for your hair.

Propellants are necessary to create the mousse consistency AFAIK. Alcohol denat is drying so not great, some have problems with polyquats which seem to be widely found in mousses. But there can also be beneficial ingredients in mousse such as panthenol or proteins.

I always use mousse, can't get away with gel at all. I haven't had any problems with it.
