Trying to find product that gives more hold

I have 3a-3b curls medium-long hairand I use Jessicurl Spiralicious, which I really like. However, I am still trying to find something to use on the front of my hair for times when I don't want to wear clips or other accessories to keep the hair out of my face and help keep it directed off my face. I don't find that hairspray works all that well. I have wondered if something like Tigi Bed Head Hair Stick or something else would work? Anyone have suggestions?

Have you ever tried Ecostyler gel before? They offer a variety of versions, with the most popular ones being the Olive oil and Argan Oil versions. They both give a Maximum hold of 10. The hold that they provide really lasts all day. You can readily find them in a variety of stores such as Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Sally's, and even beauty supply stores.

LA Looks offers gels with great hold to them as well. They offer a variety of gels within their line, but the ones that I chose to mention are the ones with the highest level of hold. They offer a gel called Extreme Sport and it has a Level 10 hold. They also offer a gel called Extreme Spikes that it offers a Level 12+ hold. And, they offer a gel called Wet Look, and it provides a Level 10 hold. The LA Looks gels can be found in Walmart, CVS, Target, KMart, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Winn Dixie, just to name a few places.

Hope you find this information to be of great help. Also, i wish you a happy and safe 4th of July as well!

I used to use Herbal Essences Spray Gel, which was CG, but I can't find it any more. So I switched to the hair spray in the same line....not the aerosol can, but the regular spray. It's not CG, but I kind of listen to my hair and not follow standards. Anyway, my hair is actually too soft to hold its own curl, so I use a gel and a conditioner from the Shea Moisture line, diffuse, scrunch out crunch, then spray the hairspray lightly around. Diffuse without heat to dry it faster then scrunch out the crunch again. This usually works for me.

If you're in the UK, the Umberto Giannini gel is good and I'm also liking Ouidad. Ecostyler is pretty poplar around here too

I've had the best luck re: hold with Giovanni Hairspray. I don't know why so many hairsprays don't work on my hair.

You can make your own spray gel. If you have a gel you really like that is. I'm sure you can find the recipe somewhere on the forums!

My 3 fave firm hold gels are LALSG, Max Green Alchemy Sculpting Gel, and BRHG -- that's in order from least hold to most hold that I've experienced with them. I am going to check out the other LA gels to see if those work for me, but I'm hesitant to change since these 3 have served me well for years.

I likes the LA looks wet look gel. Gives great hold and defines my curls. The sport gel is ok but I couldn't ever get a gel cast with it. The hold of both gels are great.

Hardest hold gel I know is BRHG. A little goes a long way, and you can mix it with other gels if it's too stiff. LAL gels (sport or wet look) are also pretty hard hold, but not like BRHG.
    3a/b, F, normal porosity

    Suave conditioner, LAL gel

If you're feeling adventurous, and want to try your own homemade stuff, gelatin hair gel can be customized to whatever hold you want. If your hair hates protein you can use alternatives like agar agar, kudzu, xanthan gum, arrowroot, cornstarch, pectin, or any other thickeners. There is sugar hairspray but I personally found it to be greasy. But then again most products give me grease so don't go by me.
