Products to keep hair well defined in humidity and high heat?

So I started out my morning with a beautiful braid out I had just taken down (first attempt and I was proud of it). My hair was really well defined, stretched, and big and I was feeling it.

30 minutes later after I drive to work I feel my hair getting smaller and smaller and now there we are with this seven hours later. It's 56% humidity where I am right now and I'm pretty sure that has something to do with it as I've never had this problem (last June I big chopped so this is my first summer with longer hair).

Are there any products for 3c/4a (at least I think that's what I am, I'm still not 100% sure) high porosity hair that can help keep twist out and braid our styles defined, and less frizzy, during be humid summer months? I mean I know shrinkage is something my hair does but with my normal stuff it takes a few days, not three hours. Or am I just going to have to embrace all of the shrinkage? Thanks everyone!

Did you use any gel to set your twists with? if not, I would recommend using gel to start setting your twists with. As, the weather is getting warmer and warmer in many places around the country. And, the humidity will wreck havoc on your curls if you don't have a product in your hair that is strong enough to keep your hair from reverting and losing all definition, frizzing up, and shrinking up badly.

If you are working inside an office, restaurant, hospital, clinic or retail space than the air inside is likely to be dry rather than humid due to air conditioning being set higher than 76F.

This means you are probably leaving your house with normal humidity as you can set your AC and actually working in a drier environment.

My hair shrinks when the environmental air is dry if I fix my hair style with products e.g. gels, curl creams that have a high percentage of humectants in them.

The way I've got around this is to do my hair as normal using leaving conditioner and gel but then put some oil on my hair afterwards.

In very humid but hot weather I end up sweating my hair style out and have given up trying to set it as anything.

Where I am the heat and humidity is no joke. I work outside of the office mostly and have been struggling to keep mine moisturized. Lately I have been using the reformulated ecostyler and Way more of it than I would use as a far as gel. I'm not entire loving how it feels but does the job. I use a good amount of li and oil under it so it's not mega crunchy. But I get first and second day hair only in the summer.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:

Thanks for these suggestions. I will order these when I get home to take back with me to Taiwan. No central a/c or air conditioning unit in either of the classrooms I teach at my schools. So essentially I'm outside all day
