To those who use the Giovanni line. What are the hydrating conditioners? What are your favorite conditioners? Do you like the leave in?

I've only ever used the Giovanni Direct leave-in and I have to say, I'm not keen. It's kind of 'blah' and the smell is just like . . . musky cream. It's not scented or anything, but the product itself smells kind of plastic. I don't know. It's hard to explain lol.

Anyway, it's not bad at all, and it does leave my hair decently soft, but I wouldn't repurchase it. I'm trying to think of how I can get rid of the three bottles I have in my drawer (it was cheaper to buy a pack of three on Amazon when I got it. So weird!).

Lots of people really do love the leave-in though, so I think I'm in the minority.

Shea Moisture products are amazing... but I find that it is getting too expensive. I would go through the Smoothie in 4-6 hair days... If you have a lot of hair and are on a budget, I can definitely say there are other alternatives...

They're definitely pricey! Thing is, when I did switch up my conditioner from SM to another one, my curls were really lacklustre; less volume, less curl, bad second-day hair, and I couldn't go as long between washes.

With shampoos as well, when I've stopped using my SM to try some samples, I've found they leave my hair dry and they just don't feel as good.

My hair just seems to love SM shampoo and conditioner for some reason, so I'm hesitant to try switching again, even though they are pricey

Maybe since I'm new to the curly lifestyle, my product list is pretty small! But wow have I found some great products already!

Shampoo: Organix (ones without sulfate) and Garnier Pure Clean(has sulfate but no dyes, parabens, silicones, etc but I use only when I need a real cleaning)

Condition: CVS brand generic Tresemme Moisture. I mixed in some olive oil too. It's amazing and has loads of slip and was like 3$!

    Styling:
    - Aussie moist 3-minute miracle deep condition. I use it when I twist my hair.. When my hair dries my twist are insanely soft and I don't even need gel.
-Shea Moisture coconut and hibiscus curl and style milk. Do the same as the Aussie and even using these 2 products together work miracles for me!

I don't really "deep condition" because technically The Aussie is a deep conditioner.
I may heat up olive oil but that's really it.

I love the SM products! They can be pricey, but I usually watch for the BOGO sales. The CES usually lasts me a few months, and the spray does as well. I don't use the shampoo or conditioner though.

I have been wanting to try the KCKT with the KCCC, but the KCCC is so expensive! I'd hate to spend money on it and then hate it. Lol. And I've been trying to use up what I have and not buy new products. So hard for me to do.

The two conditioners that I have tried from the Giovanni line are their Tea Tree Triple Treat Conditioner and Smooth As Silk, Deeper Moisture Conditioner. The Tea Tree Conditioner has a bit of a better smell to it than the Deeper Moisture Conditioner. Also, I find the Tea Tree to be a good product to use for co-washing with, than for conditioning. The Deeper Moisture Conditioner isn't very moisturizing as its name sounds. It's a pretty decent conditioner. However, I don't find either conditioners to be must-haves. But, they are still worth trying if you'd like.

The Giovanni Direct Leave In is the product that I had been wanting to try the most out of the line. It's not carried locally in my area, so I decided to take the plunge and order it from online last year. It does provides lightweight moisture and conditioning to my curls. only. Like most of the Giovanni products, it has a very earthy smell, which some may or may not like. I find that I can only use it in small amounts, or else it takes a long time to absorb fully into my hair. It's worth trying, if you'd like. I have several bottles of it at home as well as a huge liter size bottle of it as well. Overall, I do like it.
