Curl Restoration Help

Hi Everyone! I am a 16 yr old girl with a ranging hair type. Over the years my hair has experienced heat damage and doesn't curl as much as it used to. I moved to a new city for about 3 years and we had "hard water" and I was told that could be a factor. About a year before we moved back I was forced to have inches of my hair cut off leaving it just below my shoulders about two years ago.The front of my hair and the back around the bottom curls up the most to which I believe is my natural hair type. Is there any way I can restore my curls to what they used to be without cutting it? I am extremely attached to my hair and can't bare to part with it lol 😄. Please give me some suggestions.

Hair is considered a dead part of our self. The moment it grows if it gets damaged there is only little things to do. If it's not extremely damaged what I would do is growing it out and cut some inches if it became too tangly. I wouldn't big chop it as I can't do it with my own hair. Gradually would be better I think.
