How long does it take to fix over-conditioned hair?

So, I have accidentally been using conditioner as shampoo for the past 2 months (yeah, I'm a dummy, I know) and now my wavy hair (2a) is overly soft, frizzy, mushy, etc. All the signs of over-conditioned hair.

When I realized my error about a week and a half ago, I immediately started shampooing again (every other day) and cut the daily deep conditioner I had been using down to just once a week. But I also did one wash with a clarifying shampoo, one ACV rinse, and one DIY protein treatment in order to "cleanse" my hair and then build some of the protein back up and yet...nada! There has barely been any change in my hair. It stills looks and feels over-conditioned.

How long does it take to fix over-conditioned hair? Am I on the right track to fixing it? Should I be switching products to ones without silicones or something? (I use Loreal EverPure Sulfate-Free Moisture Care Shampoo, Aussie 3 Minute Miracle, and Loreal Triple Resist Reinforcing Conditioner)

(Note: I also never blow-dry/straighten my hair. Just shower, put it in a braid, and go to bed!)

I would stop the 'cones, the 3MM has them... And, are you using a gel? That and a good technique might help, go here for ideas on how to style your hair while wet. And don't overdo the shampooing... you could create an entire new problem with that.

What was that DIY protein treatment...? That may not have helped at all y'know, very often the proteins used have molecules that are too large to penetrate the hair. If you have a Sally's nearby just get a small bottle of the neutral protein filler they sell (in the haircoloring section. You can add a little to your CO or dilute a little bit with distilled water in a small spray travel bottle and spray it on your hair. Adding a bit of Epsom Salt to the mix might help too. Or cheaper yet, get a "single-serve" of Hask Placenta which is a LI protein treatment, it only costs $1 of little more.

How many times a week do you wash your hair?
I would look for hydrolized proteins, which penetrates the hair shaft.
When I had my first over conditioned hair, I still co washed and used a protein conditioner that's light to medium strength and did a more stronger protein of a mask one time. It took under 2 weeks since I wash my hair 2-3x a week.
Any drugstore has almost every conditioner with protein in it.
Aussie and loreal conditioner you use isn't strong enough. I would get one with keratin in it since our hair is made up of it. Obviously your products aren't CG so any would do. I would agree though lay off the shampooing.
Your hair will be back to normal soon. Everyone's hair reacts faster and slower than others.
If you have low porosity, either use a shower cap/bag to trap the heat in would help better and even turning up the hot water in the shower for steaming.

No gels! And the protein treatment was 1 egg yolk, plain yogurt, and some honey. It actually seemed to help a little bit, more than the ACV rinse and clarifying shampoo did anyway. :)

I only wash my hair 2-3x a week actually! Is the shampoo making my hair softer? I thought that it would have the opposite effect!
