Hi! So, I am having some problems with my hair. I am currently trying to follow the curly girl method but don't know what I am doing wrong. Before I started I had been shampooing with organix shampoo (Which has silicone's but no sulfates) and tresseme naturals conditioner. Every once in a while I would clarify my hair to get rid of the silicone's. Also I would leave some of the conditioner in my hair. I then let it air dry. I almost never go a full day with my hair down as I just got so annoyed with how frizzy and "poofy" it became once it dried. Once I ran out of the clarifying shampoo I had been using I went to walgreens to buy a new bottle and ended up getting some new products to try! I first bought the herbal essences naked shampoo to clarify my hair. Then I bought both the ology brand moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. These both did not contain sulfates or silicones. A couple of days later I bought the shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie to use as a product. Well, the first time I tryed out the products I was pretty happy, my hair looked decent and frizz free for the most part. The thing is, I haven't been able to recreate that look again. My hair has been looking worse then usual in my opinion. I feel like I am losing more hair in the shower and my roots look and feel greasy. My hair feels rough and the frizz is worse than ever. I don't know what I'm doing wrong! Any help is greatly appreciated :) I will try to post a picture later if that helps, I don't know my hair type but I would guess 2b, 2c, or 3a? I don't really know.

I'm not particularly familiar with your products, but it sounds as though they're causing you some buildup problems. I'd suggest looking around the forum at the products that tend to work out well for a large percentage of people, and maybe trying those instead. They can be drugstore products if you like, there's a pretty good mix of cg drug store and salon products. Learning about your hair properties and choosing products based on those is also a good way to go.

Many naturals have reported they hair going through a "detox" phase as they transition to CG. That's what it sounds like you're going through.

change your shampoo. I'd go with something sheabutter or desert essence.
