I absolutely agree that it is an invasion of privacy. I just read that a man has filed, too. He purchases sex toys for personal use and for use in art work.

There are too many groups concerned about what one does in their bedroom. It's none of their business.

    Fifi nailed it.

Absolutely absurd. She says she doesn't want money, but I hope she gets everything she does want and a pile of money too.

I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....

Is story even real, LOL. It can't be.

My dad has a place in Sandy Springs. I know exactly where this is. It an affluent area with gated communities. The Krogers live there.

Krogers will probably set up a Sex Toy Pharmacy ;) Sorry, we are out of The Fleshlight and Rabbit at the moment.

They can make a database and easily monitor sex toy abuse.

What I want to know is WTF reason would the education, legislative, judicial systems or law enforcement have to get a sex toy? That stood out like an insane sore thumb to me.

"The ordinance in question prohibits the selling of sexual devices unless the customers have a bona fide medical, scientific, educational, legislative, judicial or law enforcement purpose."

Makes absolutely no sense. The story is spreading like wild fire to major news outlets. The number of reporting sources has grown.

Was this just a way to keep the stores out of Sandy Springs? Can you buy it in other places and use it in Sandy Springs

From what I was just reading, residents have had no problem ordering online but it does constitute breaking the law. They can not even purchase "neck massagers" in stores. They want you to go to the doctor, and attempt getting an Rx. The woman with medical reason featured in the article was turned down. Doctors will not give her an Rx. I would not doubt that it ties in with business matters, but I would say there is some moral reasoning behind it, too. Apparently this is one of those places that became it's own private city. They can do what they want, and most of the City Council (who are supposed to be bipartisan) are lawyers (along with engineers and technology specialists). Real nice.

I wonder if they consider handcuffs to be sex toys. They are, but not officially. Not on duty anyway. Haha. The ones most typically used for other reasons are often padded and fuzzy.

Batons? I'm trying to rationalize this thought process.

Massage therapists use electronic massagers? They teach sex toy 101 in school? Idk.

I'm thinking that's what it is..because this is really weird..sandy springs is not very far from the city of Atlanta and there are many sex shops here where I have bought toys and other stuff from..it's pretty normal lol.

Sandy springs, a while back used to be a part of Atlanta and separated..so not surprised, they are just being snooty. I've been to that area once for a good persian restaurant...and the stereotype i always had of it was def confirmed lol. No interest going back!

    ^ Slow clap!

(I would also like to include different special interest groups that are widely know to bedroom police. Specific sex toys make you a deviant and abuser you know)

I am surprised they did not add porn to the list. The language stated anything used to stimulate genital organs. Better remove the brain and hands.

This is just about the strangest thing I have ever read!

I feel like the site is fake (at least for me, it loaded strangely), but if it's real...wow! Thankfully toys come in pretty undistinguished packaging!

CC, it's not. AJC stands for Atlanta Journal Constitution. It is the merger of two Atlanta newspapers that had been publishing since the 1800's. AJC has been publishing since 2001 and is the only major daily newspaper of the Atlanta metro area.

    Thanks!

I kept getting weird pop ups, and it was like the site kept loading stuff over the article.

I understand. Are you on your phone? If so, open in your browser. It's less noisy (visually).

It's on numerous other sites, too. NYdaily, the consumerist, free thought blogs, several smaller news stations, there is a YouTube video about it, and your typical sites like HuffPost and Jezebel. Apparently the law has been around since 2009.
