Calling ladies in the Hudson Valley, NY

Ok while I love my stylist I am thinking of trying to find one who can cut my hair dry to see how I like it. That being said I wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations for salons in the Hudson Valley area of NY. While I know I could go to the deva salon in the city the travel and cut would be expensive and the city gives me anxiety (I'm a country girl who hates crowds). I checked the salon finder but am finding that many of the reviews are 2 years old or more. So what I need is an updated recommendation for any curly girl who gets her hair cut around here. TIA!

Devachan can be less expensive than Deva stylists at other salons. When I had my hair cut by a "junior stylist" at Devachan I paid less than I would have in Albany, and got a great cut by someone with far more training, on-going supervision, and regular in-services (Nevila).

Where in the Hudson valley are you located? I've had great luck with a salon in Poughkeepsie.

i'm in suffern. rapunzel in suffern is a good salon, debbie the owner is curly and has devachan training. she is quite reasonably priced as well

I've been going to Carol McRitchie's on Rt 44 just outside of Pleasant Valley (across from Friendly Honda). My regular stylist is Michelle, but I know she's going out on maternity leave in July. My co-worker gets her hair done by Carol, the owner. I believe most, if not all of their stylists are Deva trained.

I am not sure if 45 minutes is too far to travel in Westchester.
I really like Carla's Salon in Mohegan Lake, near Yorktown
Stefania is a great stylist for curly hair. she listens and knows how to cut. she does not do a deva cut, which I actually prefer. It is an Aveda salon so all of theproducts smell great. priced reasonable I think a cut is around $50, and she dries you under a hood dryer which is always a good sign for naturally curlys like us

I also like Val at VaZa salon in Ossining, she owns the salon but is Deva trained. also a great cut, a very spa like salon, and a bit pricier I think her curly cut is $80-85 so almost as much or same as a junior stylist in White Plains

I have also been to Rapunzel and really liked the cuts I have gotten from Debbie, but it is too much to travel from westchester over the bridge
