Gettin rid of my "straight cap"?

My hair is a combo of 2c/3a (some 3b on a REALLY good day), but i have a portion from my roots to around my eyebrow line that is a solid 1, like ive been wearing a baseball cap. To get rid of it i scruch all my products in upside down and it still doesnt work. Any ideas to get the entire hair to curl? Thanks :)

Some of us just havecurls starting from the eye level. Maybe u can use clips to give it some lift at root. Also when u get out of the shower maybe apply all ur products with an alternate part, like different that what u typically would do and when it dries just flip it to the other side. May also give u a lift at root then. But u so look lovely btw.

I can only get my top to join in when I use my diffuser upside down. Also, making sure to get product all the way to the roots is essential for me, I have a habit of going too light up there because I've gone too heavy a few times and it looked horrible so I'm a bit gun-shy now. lol

    2c/3a, fine, low porosity.

Poo: Garnier Fructis Pure Clean (yes, it has A Sulfate!!, but I have Teflon hair)
Co-wash (when I feel so inclined, which isn't often!): VO5 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner
    Conditioner/LI:
same for both -- whatever I have in the shower at the time (I experiment a lot)
    Style: EcoStyler Olive Oil <3
Dry: Diffuse or air dry, or both...depends on my mood

Not trying to part my hair but letting it part naturally helped me get more root curl. Using conditioner on the roots also helped. The above suggestions are legit as well.
