Silly Makeup Question

Fifi.GFifi.G Posts: 15,490Registered Users Curl Neophyte
I have seen this asked on YT (more than once) and thought it might be a fun question to ask here.

If all your make up disappeared, what 10 products would you immediately replace?

Feel free to short list it to 5 if you keep it basic.

    4.Erase Paste (benefit)
    5. Foundation (type undetermined)
    6. Smashbox primer
    7. Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner (or the sephora equivalent)
    8. UD Primer Potion in Eden
    9. Urban Decay naked palette
    10. Bare minerals mineral veil

ETA I removed Benefit Girl Meets Pearl as I realized I had left off UD Primer Potion in Eden

Listed in terms of most important:

Clinique blonde thin eyebrow pencil - my eyebrows all fell out and I got a tattoo which turned orange. This is the only thing that counteracts my orange brows!
    Blush some rosy, tawny shade.
Undereye concealer still trying to find HG
MAC half lash curler for outer lashes
    MAC full lash curler
Mascara - experimenting but old standby is L'oreal Voluminous; I got a sample of Le Volume from Chanel and it knocked me out! But $30. vs. drugstore omg.
    Foundation - haven't found HG
Some lip gloss maybe NARS Chihuahua
Maybelline Fruit Punch lipstick - not the most sublime formulation but the perfect color for me
Chanel La Caline matte lipstick - divine formulation, only matte lipstick that doesn't dry out - cost you your first born, but try it - amazing

    Fun thread.
    2/c Coarse hair med. density.
    Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....
Every day is a gift :flower:

Yay! I am glad you enjoyed it. This seemed fun and good way to figure out what is the most important to you. I need to toss some older stuff and maybe this will help get me motivated. I will be back to make my list tonight. I'd probably have to name one or two things and come back right now :)

I thought about buying that Chanel mascara, CP. I have heard wonderful things about it. I went with their loose powder instead, and I am loving it.

IDK if I even use 10 products!

    1) MAC Studio Fix powder foundation

    2) MAC eyebrow marker (can't remember the name)

    3) anykind of black eyeliner marker (Toofaced is great, so is Stila)

4)any kind of black mascara (some are better than others but I don't have a steady brand and can't remember the names...I got a really good one as a sample a few months ago from Sephora)

    5) Benefits Watts Ups highlighter

    6) something light brown for contouring

    7) MAC Studio Finish concealer (under eyes)

    8 ) Vasline for lips

    9) some kinda irridescent lipstick (everyone hates these colors on me but I can't stop myself

10)....hmmmmmmmm I guess some kind of eye shadow but I'm totally reaching now.

eta - the mascara I love from Sephora is Benefit's They're Real!

    Okay...

    1. Benefit Pore-fessional Primer

    2. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (so hard to just pick one foundation but I am loving this right now)

    3. Laura Mercier Undercover Pot
    ImageUploadedByCurlTalk1398732432.169030.jpg
Because it's concealer, corrector and setting powder in one. I don't have it but I have each product in it.

    4. Lancôme Blush Subtle Palette (Contour, Blush and Highlighter in one)

    5. Benefit's Gimme Brow tinted gel (I am a simple brow girl) ETA: I don't actually have this but it is next on my list. I always keep a brow gel. The last one I bought was ABH but that was when I dyed my hair auburn. It no longer matches. Before that I had a clear gel from Sally's. At the moment I am spraying hairspray on a brow brush. It works. I'm the worlds worst to do my face and say screw it when it comes to the brows. Swipe... Done :)

    6. Naked 3

    7. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Just Beige (Dupe for MAC's Soft Ochre which can double as a eye primer)
    ImageUploadedByCurlTalk1398732643.588388.jpg

    8. Urban Decay 24-7 in YEYO (white because I can do all kinds of stuff with it)

    9. Lancôme HypnoStar Mascara. I had a hard time picking between this and Benefit's They're Real but the Lancôme makes your eyes look lined so that saves a step.

    10. Burt's Bee's Tinted Lip Balm

Chupie & Cally... I'd have to do a separate list for brushes and facial care :-/ we can make them bonus questions though. *Snicker* 5 skin care products and 5 brushes. Or 3 & 3 for basic. Why not!?!?

When it comes to brushes I know just what I want.

    1. MAC 217. My favorite brush in the world. I now have 3 of them.

    2. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush for foundations and other cream face products.

    3. Lancôme double ended Cheek & Contour Brush.

    4. Real Techniques Dome Shadow/Crease Brush. I use it to blend my concealer.

    5. A good powder brush.

Dang it. I want a stiff angle brush too.

How do you like the Hourglass AB? I recently saw several of their ambient products used in a tutorial and they looked beautiful. I had never heard of the line which is no shocker. I have to drive over an hour to see anything other than your typical drugstore brands, Lancôme or Estee Lauder, and I do not make the trip frequently.

I also think it's sold at Sephora but not Ulta. No Sephora in my area which may be a good thing. I have been in Ulta twice and have not made it out of the makeup side yet.

I have the naked 3 palette but I find the colors are so similar they all look like one color when I'm finished. For this reason I tend to like my naked 2 better. But I've always defaulted to browns and golds so that could be why

Hourglass replaced Tarte as my go-to blush the moment I tried it. The colors are very soft and buildable- I have two different shades, and the one I use most often is almost poppy colored, and nothing like I would normally wear. But it goes on so softly that it looks really natural.

I have the opposite problem- two Sephoras in my local mall, but closest Ulta is about an hour away, near my parents.

That is how it goes. I almost fainted when I discovered the closest mall now had an Ulta. I saw orange in the windows from the outside and was like... Is that? Could it be? IT IS! I ran in, went straight to it, and had no idea what to do with myself. It could swallow 3 of my Sally's and blows it out of the water when it comes to numerous products. Very happy with it but it does stink when you want to try things like MUFE or Hourglass.

The blush looks fantastic. Light but not very shimmery and I like that. I was hoping I could get another opinion on it so thank you!

I sure like Ulta better than Sephora for the most part. And I had a long layer scissor only cut there that was fantastic. So I feel like they know what they are doing. Of course she couldn't style it wavy for beans but I think I'll show her how next time.
