Favorite Eyeshadows

Please share them. You can just name them if you want or better yet, add pictures (I plan on adding several this time).

I seem to be gravitating toward particular colors and powders at the moment (still love my Clinique & Flower Chubby Sticks and Maybeline Color Tattoo, which I think are better paint pots than several high end brands). Some I have used for quite a while, and others are newer. I'll start with my oldies but goodies.

One of my absolute quick and easy favorites for work: Shell's by Estee Lauder

ImageUploadedByCurlTalk1398137424.430941.jpg

2 other favorites by EL... Raisins. It is the darker shade. I do not have this duo (it's discontinued) but I have had it in a few different palettes for years and always use it up.

Cyber Ruby (which is a newer addition)
ImageUploadedByCurlTalk1398137648.582988.jpg

Those shades go rather well with my green eyes and I am liking them much better than standard purples at the moment.

Now for Pt. 2

Naked 3 has become my go-to. The other palette I've been using is the new incarnation of Too-Faced's neutrals palette. I bought it as a less expensive alternative to the neutrals that a MUFE brand rep used when she did my eyes a few weeks ago at Sephora. She used neutral eyeshadow and a bold green eyeliner and the final look was fantastic.

It's an incredibly nice palette. I had looked at all 3 in person and online (for over a year), was going to get the smaller UD Naked Basic's but I decided to go for what I was most drawn to. I am glad I did.

Do the eyeshadows in the TF Naturals all work well? It looks beautiful. I bought the Matte Eye palette last year and a few are hard to work with. It's a shame because it is the prettiest purple and blue colors. I think it was just because of the Matte formula. They don't want to pick up and are not very pigmented.

The Too Faced section had been raided at Ulta this year. There was hardly anything left :-/ I was going to pick up the bronzer discussed in another thread but I think they just had some blushes left. Lol.

I'm not a big eyeshadow person but I do wanna buy a couple of these:
    revloneyeshadowandprimer.jpg

I need to step by eyeshadow game up, like blending and mixing colors, doing a black and brown smoky eye, etc.

I guess I shld buy a few brushes to do that...

If and when I develop some skill in this area, I might pick up some MAC shadows.

I definitely prefer it over the matte palette. I haven't played with the more shimmery colors yet, but I do find even the matte colors easier to work with.

My new fave is a color by BE that I think might be discontinued -- it's called Pebble. I got it in a swap a year or so ago and just started using it. I wish there was something similar that I could put in my stash.
    Location: Texas
Type: 3b/3c (i), below shoulder length.
CO wash: A-O GPB LYY, Desert Essence Coconut, Oribe Silverati
Leave-ins: Curl Junkie Beauti-Curls, KCKT, cno overnight
Styling: BRHG, MGA Sculpting Gel, A-O Mandarin Magic Gel, LOTD AVG, LALSG, CJ Pattern Pusha
DT: Curl Junkie Deep Fix, Briogeo Don't Despair Repair!

Have you trued googling dupes for it? You may be able to find several close ones.

Great idea! Will do that when I make a dent in it! BE lasts a long time for me.

Hopefully you will find a few good suggestions. Even if there is not an exact match, you can get close.

PS- I quickly glanced and it looks like you might find suggestions in reviews on Makeup Alley and in comments on some other sites. So it might take some digging :)

I was just going through some of my cream shadows and moving my spring favorites to the front. That where you see a lot of my purples.

    ImageUploadedByCurlTalk1399339747.023309.jpg
    ImageUploadedByCurlTalk1399339781.698707.jpg

Starting at the top, left to right, it's the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk, Seashore Frost (which is an interesting icy gray blue, seafoam, gold and purple), Cool Crush (another gray/blue/white/purple or gwbpurple), and Lavish Lavender. Below that is Estee Lauder Neon Fuchsia, and it has been used often, creasing or not. Maybelline Eggplant eyeliner and my Clinique Chubby Sticks in Portly Plum and Lavish Lilac. I also have a Clinique Lid Smoothie in Born Freesia that I wear often. I have had most of those for a year or longer. I picked up the unusual MCT's at the end of summer last year. It was their Spring 2013 collection. I plan to get more use out of them this year. I really like them.

^ I don't have the yellow/gold. That is the only one I could not find but I do have the Icy Mint and Waves of White
    ImageUploadedByCurlTalk1399340454.549776.jpg

I dug out a few of my neutrals too. I've probably had a few of my Estee Lauders way longer than I should but I loved those paint pots and they have some pretty goldish beiges, gold pinks and gold peaches.

I'm trying to get up the strength to throw away some of my Clinique powder shadows. I know several of the duo's and quads are 15 years old. :-/ I love the colors but I don't want eye funk.

*Stopping and thinking about the last time I bought Clinique powder shadows just really freaked me out. Lol. I only wear one. It's the best peachy duo, ever. I have not touched the others in years. They have to go. I am trying to redo and replace and I keep hoarding them for no known reason.

    I'm currently loving:
Urban Decay: Tease, Verve, Snakebite, and the entire Smoked Out palette.

Makeup Geek: Mercury, Stealth, Graphite, Unicorn, and Shimma Shimma.

NYX Jumbo eye pencils-all colors. These make a great base and are my go-to when I want some color, but don't have the time to do a whole eye look. One swipe, blend, and go!
    2b/c
Fine, low porosity, med density, normal elasticity.
Dislikes: Aloe by itself, cheap gels, and heavy butters
    Co-wash: CJ Daily Fix
    Condish: CJ Beauticurls Strengthening
    LI: Curlsmith Oil-in-Cream
Stylers: CJ Curl Queen, Flaxseed gel, Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic.
PT: CJ Repair Me or IA Girls PT w/ mag. sulfate,
DT: CJ Rehab and Righteous Roots Hair Rx or Pre-poo oil.

    Update:
I bought the Revlon Photoready "PopArt" quad above (lower right) and tried it this wknd and it sucked! I used the little cheapy sponge eyeshadow applicators (several of them).

Was it the applicators that ruined it? If I had nice eyeshadow brushes, would that have made a difference?

Naked 2 palette is by far my favorite, I have the naked 3 but I just can't get into it.

What sucked about them, Spider? Did they not have good pigment, crease, flake? If it truly does not have good pigment, I am not sure what would help. Brushes can make a big difference as far as application goes but even with lightly pigmented colors you would have to wet the brush and see how it goes.

I love Silk Naturals eyeshadows! They also have a wonderful primer "Stick Em" to hold the glittery ones on better.

Eyeshadow is my weakness! (Followed by lipstick, then blush :love2:)

    Hmm my favorites:
    -Urban Decay Naked2
    -Too Faced Chocolate Bar
-L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows (Especially Amber Rush!)
-Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows (Bold Gold is my most used)

^^Are my most used because I try to keep my shadows neutral for work.

I have to give honorable mention to my Wet'n'Wild Coloricon 8-pan palettes in Comfort Zone and Petal Pusher though. They're amazing!

I really like the color tattoo cream shadows. The quality is great.

I have picked up a few more Jane Iredale mineral shadows, here and there. I really do like them. Great quality powder. So far I have

    Cappuccino
    ImageUploadedByCurlTalk1402797625.640578.jpg

^ I have been using this like crazy. It's good on my brows, too.

White (because I tossed all my old quads that had white powder shadows)
    ImageUploadedByCurlTalk1402797699.869304.jpg

I don't typically do a lot of blues but I will pull them out from time to time and loved these colors. I will get some use out of them this summer as eyeliners or on the outer portion of my mobile lid. I also tossed all my old shadows that had blue in them. These + my navy Estee Lauder cream will be more than enough. Very pretty on.
