HELP: 2C or 3A (Pic included)

I'm having trouble deciding what curl type I am. 2C or 3A? BTW, is curl type determined when your hair is with or without product? 'Cause in this pic, my hair has mousse in it, but obviously without mouse, my curls would not be as defined.

Thank you! <3

If you cannot decide you might well have both in your hair or shift depending on the weather. Or just be something inbetween. The definitions are not written in stone and the distinction between 2C and 3A is the most importanl to know property of your hair. :)

From what I can see I would put you as 3A, potentially a future 3A/3B with some more moisture and definition. :)

I agree with the 3a/b posts. I used to think my own hair was a 2c but remember: 2c almost always has a "straight portion"; often it's the underneath portion that's straighter. Mine was my top layer but since going CG, that's no longer in the least bit straight and I'm more of a 3a. If you have a portion that's significantly straighter than the rest of your hair, you might be a 2c. If you don't and your hair is as curly as your picture shows, you're a "type 3" curly. I personally think you're more 3b than 3a. Your hair is quite curly. It's beautiful. :)

I was thinking 3b with a smidge of 3a. Your hair looks very defined.
