So ive only been transitioning for a month and it feels longer thn tht. Ive had a lil new growth and have been just doin braid outs. My hair is short cuz I have an a-line so the back if my head where its shorter has more curl but the front wherr its longer is straighter. I might go for a trim soon. Since my hair is shorter will my transitioning time b shorter or does tht depend on how fast it grows. Im anxious to get my curls bck...I miss thm !! Maybe whn I wash my hair ill post some pics......thnx guys

What will really help your hair is getting a curly cut. Not sure how that will work while transitioning, but my curls are amazing after my deva cut.

I transitioned for six months and was aiming for twelve.
Couldn't do it anymore and chopped it off about three days ago.
Not gonna lie, EXTREMELY happy it's done and over with

I've been transitioning for just under 3 months and when I was around the 1 months mark i was anxious and frustrated like you! I just wanted my curly hair back I still do but I'm a little more patient now. Try taking pregnancy or pre conception vitamins I know that sounds crazy but can aid hair growth as it has biotin in it, hair growth can be slow if your diet isn't great (not saying this is the case) but if it is, try eating more fruit and veg to make your hair speed up, mines rubbish and I've been taking pre conception vitamins and it seems to be growing a little quicker and is in better condition overall

Be careful taking any prenatal vitamins as these also make you extremely fertile. So if you're not looking to get pregnant I would be super careful.

I'm maybe at the same place you are now. I have been transitioning from flat iron to natural hair and today is only day 28 of natural curls (no hair dryer, flat iron, or curling iron). Yesterday I got my first curly cut because I couldn't stand the straight limp dead ends anymore. My hair was about 2 inches past my shoulders and now it lays on my shoulders when dry and curly. It looks so much better and the curls are more defined and bouncy. However, I learned a lot from my hair stylist and she explained that I only had about 1 inch of my actual curl pattern so far (which I thought was still awesome because I've only been wearing it curly for 27 days). She was able to show me and even let me know her guess as to what my curl pattern may look like when I'm through transitioning. It will take a long time but my hair has already been growing ten times as much as it did when I was constantly using heat on it. This is what I do:

I take a daily multivitamin (women's one a day), biotin, and fish oil omega 3. For breakfast I eat plain oatmeal with ground flaxseed, blueberries or banana, and peanut butter. I make sure to eat a lot of fruits and veggies throughout the day (baby carrots, grapes, mango, banana) and I try to eat a lot of protein for dinner like chicken and black beans or salmon. Also, the chobani greek yogurts are yummy and have like 20 grams of protein! I also treat my ends a lot with conditioner and coconut oil so I can retain length. So far, it's been working.

Good luck on your transition! I totally understand being impatient I am right there with ya!
