GVP Conditioning Balm help

So I keep hearing everyone raving about the GVP conditioning balm, so I tried it and it feels alright on my hair, but when I rinse it out my hair feels kinda dryed out...just kind of blah. Has anyone else had only so so results from the GVP conditioning balm?

I've been trying to find a new silicone free rinse out conditioner to use because my beloved Tresemme Naturals formula changed and no longer works on my hair. I have been having a lot of trouble finding a conditioner that works on my hair. The GVP conditioning balm seems to be the only conditioner that comes somewhat close because it feels alright on my hair, but it just don't feel good afterwards.

Is there anything that I could mix in with the GVP conditioning balm to make it more moisturizing and make it so my hair does not get left dry afterwards? Like is there another conditioner that I could mix with it or something else?

GVP is moisturising, IIRC it's rich in glycerin and/ or propylene glycol which are potent humectants (water or moisture attracting ingredients). This makes it unsuitable for use in say higher porosity hair and lower dews where it may draw water out of the hair.

I suspect what you want is more conditioning/ emollience. The old Tresemme Naturals was rich in capric/ caprylic triglycerides which are lipids (fats/ oils) so ANTI humectants.

One of the other new formula TN conditioners is rich in capric/ caprylic triglycerides so you might try that.
