Dry itchy scalp and dry hair problems

Hi everyone
I live in a dry climate, especially in winter. New to these boards, but not new to CG or natural hair care. I have great success with Devacurl in the warmer months. But all natural products that I have tried are a disaster in the winter. My scalp gets very itchy and my hair looks dull and feels like straw. I have tried omitting products with glycerin but I still find the all natural products fail to give my hair/scalp the moisture it needs. I don't seem to have issues with protein. I am getting frustrated with all the trial and error so I have reverted back to what works and unfortunately its not CG. ACV rinses work well for scalp itchiness, but its only a temporary fix. Would love advice from all the natural curlies here.

Vinegar is not moisturising, quite the reverse. If that is helping your scalp you could have an imbalance. What does your family doctor or dermatologist say? Are you eating a nutrient dense anti inflammatory wholefood diet, especially plenty of oily fish?

I have psoriasis which has nothing to do with the products for sure but psoriasis = itchiness + dry flaky scalp
n i use natural remedies for it that help alot with itchiness n if it helps my psoriasis when all shampoos cannot, i think it will help u too
n u can use them with CG method

#1 mixing warm olive oil or warm melted coconut oil with 10 drops of tea tree oil
n apply it to your scalp n u can use it in all over your hair
but i prefer to apply the oil without the tea tree to my ends just because my ends dont need tea tree oil

n wrap your hair in plastic for 30 mins or so
n wash your hair as u normally do
itchiness will almost go immediately after that n it dp your hair

#2 mixing witch hazel with glycerin 50/50

n apply it to your scalp it is a bit more greasy but does the same thing

Olive oil should not be used in seborrhoeic dermatitis, oleic acid is the main irritant.

I have tried olive oil, massaged into my scalp and hair, left it overnight. When I washed it out itch still returned.
I have coconut oil. I could probably hydrate more and take fish oil supplements. I think the ACV restores the pH balance and clarifies buildup. Maybe that's why it helps, idk. When I use high end hair products I don't have this problem, even with full sulphate shampoo.

I like to use sea breeze for my itchy scalp. It helps keep the itchy scalp at bay.
