The woman I watched her finish before my turn had coily hair and it looked fantastic. I was listening to her talk about products and techniques and it was completely different than what she told me about my hair (2c/3a). Not sure if it's sound advice but she does give different advice for different hair types for sure. I saw at least 3 examples of that during my two visits. ALL kinds of curls.

Wow I need to try this woman if she really can deal with everything. I live in Barrie and I tried one but it was a terrible experience (Curls by Nadina?)

I really liked curlbar. They arent very chatty so if you need the consultation it might not be for you, but for myself i find it very relaxing there and they cut hair very well.

Update: Krista in kingston. Better than all the rest. She by FAR knows more about curls than any other stylist I have met and knows exactly how to handle all types of hair. Done and done.

hi all. I know this is an older post, but I am new to the Toronto area (Mississauga). Any updates on this post please? I have 3b hair (I think - I am new to all of this). Thanks!  Deb

In Toronto I regularly go to Curlbar. You can't go wrong. But if you can make your way to Kingston, Krista Leavitt is amazing

thanks Savagegirl.... I looked at Curlbar but it seems like I will need to take out a mortgage for the cost? Are they really worth it? thanks again.

Their prices are pretty standard at curlbar... Krista is far more. You could try Gossips with Mary Mcdonald, she will cut wet it you have relaxed curls and dry if they are tight. Very low cost yet she does great hair. Check her out on facebook or instagram

If I was in Toronto, I think I would go see Jonathan Torch.

Really, how so?  he is the owner of the Curly Hair Solutions products, most notably Curl Keeper.

I like some of his products but no one is tunneling into my hair to reduce bulk.

Oh yea, I hear you.  I had that done once and it was horrible.  I think that is basically the Ouidad method.
