dressy shorts?

Anyone wear dressy shorts out at night or to work as part of a suit? Where are you finding styles that aren't too short, too casual or cheap-looking?

Asking women around 40 and above.

I hated the shorts-worn-to-work-w-tights look in the 70s, 80s and 90s. But it's grown on me over the last few yrs.

Currently, we have no dress code at my job. But one will be written soon. And if it doesn't mention shorts, I'm going for mine!:glasses7:

I have 2 pairs of dressy shorts, both are just above the knee, semi-fitted, one or both are cuffed at the bottom.
I think both came from Ross. One is in olive and one is in black.
I don't own a blazer so I never wear them as part of a suit, but I do wear them out at night, to work, and I've worn the black ones to a summer outdoor wedding reception.
I can dress them up or down, wear them with sneakers or dressy sandals, espadrilles. I never wear them with heels. I never wear them with tights or hose.

I wore "fancy" bermudas for a few years (with heels), but I decided to give them up. Decided I like skirts or even skorts better.
