Does anybody use KCKT + KCCC combo?

sixelamysixelamy Posts: 4,156Registered Users Curl Neophyte
I switched to KCKT as my leave in since it's just about the only thing I can find around here without humectants. It's been doing very well for my hair when it dries, and I am quite pleased. I use KCCC on top of it, and my hair's texture by feel immediately changes into something weird. I can't really explain it... but it's like it has 20x more hold with KCKT than any other leave in I've used with it. It's not a bad thing, it just shocked me when it happened, and then kept happening.

Has anybody else experienced this?

You know I have them both and I haven't tried them together very many times. I think i wasn't impressed before but I think I will try again. Sorry I couldn't really help.

When I tried them together, I got less curl than when using kccc with other leave in conditioners. How were you applying the kckt? On dripping hair, or damp hair? Just curious.

I absolutely LOVE the results I get with them together, but my hair just immediately changes into this weird feeling thing when I add the KCCC. I put my products in when my hair is wet. I squeeze the excess water out so it's not totally soaking and dripping everywhere.

Regarding the KCCC, I always thought agave nectar and aloe were pretty potent humectants. I think marshmallow is also a mild humectant. The last time I used KCKT/KCCC combo in the summer, I looked like the Lion King after about an hour.

I actually have a pic of me using both. I liked my hair. But I like other conditioners better. I do love me some kccc though!

I've used them both, but separately. I haven't thought of using them together, but that's mostly because I prefer the results of KCKT on my dry, second-day hair, rather than on my freshly-washed, wet hair.

I'll probably try the combo of the two of them together at some point, but right now I'm really liking the mix of KCCC and the As I Am leave-in, they seem to complement each other nicely.

Hmm, I just did a search.. apparently they are.. what do ya know. lol I was looking at a list of humectants the other day from Naturally Curly and they weren't on there. I suppose their content isn't 100%. Thanks for this info.

Well anyhow, they are doing wonders for my hair right now. Anything with glycerin is a disaster at the moment, although my hair loves it in the summertime.

I agree, they are beautiful together! The AIA leave in stopped working for me though, I was really sad. It was like it worked wonders for 5 days, then decided meh.. I don't like you anymore.

I did, and while I did not continue to do so (but then again, I was using KCCC incorrectly for my hair anyway), I never noticed that my hair felt weird.

Once KCCC is in stock again on iHerb, I will use it together with KCKT as a LI now that I seem to have figured out what application method seems to do the trick for my hair.

So weird you'd say that, because I actually found the As I Am started to be a bit 'eh', so I stopped using it for a week and used KCKT on my wet hair (this was before I got my tub of KCCC), but I went back to using it a few days ago and now it works wonderfully again. How weird is that?! Maybe it's just one of those products hair can get 'used to'? Who knows!

I think this is why kathymack always rotates. It's still a mystery to me how that works.

Before CG my hair would "get used" to product, but that would be after 2 big bottle purchases worth. I'm not used to products not working after 5 days. That's funny that happened to you too Allie. I wonder what's in it that causes that. I was thinking it might be the coconut oil for me, but I'm not sure.
