Powdered milk in pre-poo treatments?

I'm a member of different hair forums - lol obsessed - and in one I read today all girls raving about adding powdered milk to their pre-poo treatment, a 1:1 proportion with conditioner. They all say it makes their hair thicker (I suppose FEEL thicker, of course, but I'm quoting so yeah), shiny and great in general after just a few uses.
What are your thoughts? Have any of you tried this? I'm about to consider getting some powdered milk to do it myself, but I wanted some more opinions before I do...

A 2C, wishfully thinking of being 3a. Sometimes I get there. CG since October 2013, Eurocurly (just for a few months more!), completely low-porosity now. SBL, wanting elbow length.

I do use the schwarzkopf ultimate volume one you use also, but sometimes I need a stronger dose, you know? XD a deep treatment. And l'oreal is usually packed with lots of cones and awful stuff aren't they? I hadn't even considered them because of that fact...

The Gliss ultimate volume isn't a hardcore drying type treatment obviously but I found it very protein rich. Hydrolysed collagen and keratin are the third and sixth ingredients respectively. The fifth ingredient (cocodimonium hydroxypropyl ...) is a protein modified to be HIGHLY substantive or very 'sticky'. So three of the first six ingredients are hydrolysed proteins which is more than many commercial treatments.
If you harnessed time and heat you should be able to get the best out if it as an intensive treatment. If its not as good as the DIY gelatin its possible that part of the benefit is in something else you are adding such as oils (Gliss is oil free).
L'Oreal often use a similarly modified wheat protein (hydroxypropyltrimonium ...) in their conditioners but I haven't found the ones I have tried to be anywhere near as potent as the Gliss.
HTH.

1 packet knox and 1/2 cup distilled water.
Mix gelatin and water
Pop in microwave for 30 seconds
Refigerate
mix with conditioner
It is mentioned to have a somewhat equal ratio so for 2 teaspoons conditioner, use 2 teaspoons knox.

I will try using it as an intensive treatment! I'll add heat too. (:
And Samantha, I do that pretty much weekly, but since we only have gelatin sheets here I was saying how I hate crumbling them because it takes so long. XD also it's so hard it cuts my skin sometimes when I break the sheets in small shards, and was looking for a lazier good alternative, simply.

Shame someone poured cider on my head, had to pick apart a massive mat afterwards.

I've been using it nonstop ever since I found it in a store! As a LI, not a RO simply because I don't want to finish it too quick. XD and I use a cheaper RO because I use a lot to make sure I cleanse well.
But yeah, since I use it more often, I think my hair is much happier. (: almost two months ago now, so winter didn't make me hate it. Can't wait to try it in warmer weather!

I might try doing some bantu knots today after I wash but I'm afraid they'll turn out bad because my curl pattern isn't the strongest... >.>
