Getting height at the crown where its silver...

in Going Gray
has been more challenging lately. The silver's texture seems somewhat different than the rest of my hair, so I am not getting the height at the crown I like. Anyone else? what works for you??

    And... at my Deva cut yesterday she got volume/height and of course I told her I can never duplicate it. She asked what I normally do.
    So I said, products in the shower, scrunch and then plop. Well she stopped me and said with my curl pattern that perhaps the plopping was flattening my curls. She told me to clip the crown and then diffuse to "set" the gel. Then to air dry, diffuse later on if I needed to before I finished my hair.
    Worth a try, I've been plopping after every shower,
    2C * Normal Porosity * Medium Density * Chin Length

    Still playing with products ( using mostly Deva right now)

    Working on finding my inner curl.

    altho i do plop occasionally while i apply moisturizer, they're never my best hair days. it's always better if i just scrunch some water out with curlease towel, and let it air dry.

    3a, some 2c & 3b, medium texture, porosity normal, low elasticity :-(

    It never did much for me. Maybe I should try it again, since nothing much is working for me these days...

    Plopping works well for me and helps give me lift, but it can't be for too long. 20-30 minutes max. Plop, scrunch, clip the crown with claw clips (duckbill clips flatten my hair and make weird marks), air dry then diffuse dry for a few minutes, scrunch.
    --I'm located in Western PA.   --I found NC in late 2004, CG since February 2005, joined the forums in May 2005, started going grey in late 2005.   --My hair is 3B with some 3A, currently at mid back length when dry,  texture-medium/fine, porosity-top is low, middle is medium, ends are porous, elasticity-normal.   --My long time favorite products are Suave & VO5 conditioners, LA Looks Sport Gel, coconut oil, honey, vinegar.

    Jeepy, I dont plop, and I do just the opposite of you; I diffused, then clip, with the roller jaw clips. I HATE metal clips, they never worked well for me, and with my hair getting silver, I think they would slide right out. Are you still using LALSG?

    Oh yes. I love my LA Looks. If they ever discontinue it I will throw a fit. : )
