Philippines... Who is your stylist?

Well, every haircut I've had is a bad haircut. So yeah I could use some suggestions because now I got straight cut and I think I would like some layers but I dreaded going to a salon.

If you could share good or bad experiences with specific salons then it would help with my stylist search. I would really appreciate if you could give names of stylists who can handle curly hair. :)

I had only been to some salons near our place, but I think I would want to invest in a good haircut. Anywhere within Metro Manila is fine. I also saw a thread here about stylists in Manila but the recommended stylists are no longer at the specified salon according to the latest post and maybe you don't like bumping old threads, idk.

Thank you very much in advance! And I hope I would have gorgeous hair someday like yours.

Have you considered cutting your own hair? The Curly Girl Handbook, which you can also purchase for Kindle or Kindle Cloud reader (on laptop) has some good information on giving yourself dry cuts, which are probably going to be a lot better than going to a stylist who is not knowledgeable about curly hair.

I'm not in the Philippines but a neighbor, short of finding a great stylist, I think learning to cut our own hair is a very viable option for the region.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion! I had also thought about that but I think I'm too chicken to try it out. I feel like so many things could go wrong. -_-

Maybe I will try when I have the guts.

Do you cut your hair? How was it? :)

I have not yet cut my own hair, but getting increasingly confident! Anyway start with trims first, very unlikely to "ruin" your hair from a trim.
