I want my hair bigger!

My curls are type 3a/3b. I do use duckbill clips while it dries, but I still want it bigger! Any tips?

Have you tried flipping your hair upside down after you take the clips out and shaking the curl lightly to add more volume? I went to a stylist yesterday and that's what she did. And I had the best volume at my roots!

I've also heard that diffusing with your head upside down helps as well.

Style your hair with less water. The clumpier your curls are, the less volume you have. Separate them for more volume.

Diffusing upside down for a bit or plopping might work.

Also I've found the way I apply my gel / styler really helps. What I do now is part it into two 'pigtail' sections and then take the top layer of my hair and clip it up. I apply the gel to the two side sections, raking product through as normal. Then unclip the top layer of my hair and finger-comb it towards the front, so it's over my face and I look a bit like Cousin It (lol). Then I apply the product (my head is titled so I'm kind of upside down). Then I tip my whole head fully upside down and scrunch all of my hair, then flip it to the side and scrunch :)

I may not have explained that very well lol. SunKissAlba does it too and you can actually see her doing it in this video: Winterizing Curly Hair SunKissAlba - YouTube (It's around the 3:29 mark) :)

I know! It's actually ridiculous lol.

She's been recovering from heat damage like a lot of us and if you look at her earlier videos when her hair is damaged like this one and then comparing it to her more recent videos like this you can see a MONUMENTAL difference now. Very inspiring!
