Tell us who and why!

***

I am starting to like Pioneer Woman. I love her 16 min meals and her personality is so cute. Her husband is pretty easy on the eyes (never thought i'd be saying that about a guy in a Resistol and boots)!

I like Giada de Laurentiis bc...how do I say it?...she manages to stay slim somehow so I feel encouraged that it is possible to eat real food and dessert, and stay a reasonable size. Plus, her recipes are fantastic! And she makes a lot w/ chocolate.

I've always liked to eat and cook but I haven't paid any of these professional foodies muuch attn until recently.

Funny you mention that...I have been really let down by some of these hosts' kitchens! Hungry Girl? Trisha Yearwood? Some of them are really bad.

Why do I love Alton? Well he is funny, nerdy, sciency, and really goofy. I loved that Good Eats explained why? and the sock puppets didn't hurt either.

(as for the Pioneer Woman, ugh, she just sets my teeth on edge.. Let me show you how to make this delicious homemade chocolate cake.. first open up your duncan hines cake mix, then chop up 16 snickers bars and mix them in. For the frosting melt 6 pounds of oleo, 14 more candy bars and pour it over the top of the cake! Tah DAH! you are awesome, oh no wait I am the one that is awesome, here have a picture of the spatula that I licked! Do you see the lick mark? That's where I licked the spatula because it was soooo yummy, aren't I great???)

I have never read the PW's blog (I follow no ones blogs. I just stumble upon them when looking up stuff) but I have mixed emotions on her show. Sometimes she makes dishes that do look good, and sometimes she does not but that is something I can say about everyone. I don't mind when people do snickers or butter finger cakes, etc. Though I do laugh like crazy when what's her face uses frozen onions. Who is she? The blonde who does table scape's, cocktails and semi homemade stuff. Anyway, Several people do love those cakes. I am not one of them but I do drool when her husband grills steaks. You know they are grade A and fresh. I just don't think she is ever going to be able to relax in front of the camera. She seems very tense, nervous and dry to me. I do appreciate the fact that she is the first to say she has never had any professional training, had no idea how to cook what so ever until family members started working with her, and is more of a blogger and photographer who happened to develop an interest in cooking along the way.

    I like Alton and Giada.

I really like Gina Homolka's Skinnytaste blog. She makes weight watchers friendly meals and many of her recipes are really quite good.

Also, I love Ina Garten. She is so down-to-earth and genuine and her recipes are classic and uncomplicated.

I'm also throwing Anthony Bourdain in here. Love No Reservations!!! Combines my love of food, travel, and sarcasm. AND I found him to be unbelievably sexy.

A woman I work with does a very funny impression of Giada saying "Mozarella." Apparently she says, "Moozarelllla."
    I'm liking the blog Food52.

I don't have a real favorite anymore but I once was a Food Network addict. I loved AB. I recently found Sally's Baking Addiction - Sallys Baking Addiction Sallys Baking Addiction » A Sprinkle of Fun and Adventure.. And she has one of the best ccc recipes ever! It uses browned butter which really amps the flavor. It makes me want to try her other recipes.

But really I came on to say, "Do you see the lick mark?" is now my new favorite phrase. It just booted mental patienty down to #2.

gagirl, I didn't know you were vegan. Good for you!

Well it has been sort of mess since I moved in Taiwan (language barrier and lack of English characters for ingredients lack of resources) *sigh* but I got the hang of it now.

I'm old school and am still in love with Julia Child. I also loved Graham Kerr and am a long time fan of Martha Stewart.
I rarely watch cooking shows nowadays but I do like Alton Brown, Bourdain, Ina Garten, Andrew Zimmern, Guy Fieri.

I very much dislike most of the recipes I see in my facebook newsfeed. They tend to be Pioneer Woman/Paula Deen/sugar and fat laden concoctions. Blech. Just not my style of eating.

My favorite place to look up recipes online is Your Lighter Side | Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Gluten-Free, Sugar-Free, Low-Carb, Atkins, Diabetic, Ketogenic Healthy Eating

I am definitely a fan of Alton! I feel like he can do anything and it'll be great same for Ina Garten. I think it's great how she can cook delicious food in a calm environment and in a reasonable amount of time. I actually think my fav chef are from the 90's in my childhood when I actually began to fall in love with food so they'll always be my idols. As for pioneer woman and hungry girl... Not my style. Pioneer woman holds no interest or passion and hungry girl.. I just KNOW she can make low calorie food without using gross recipes. They always say if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself and that's what I plan to do. One of these days I'll have a show and teach them how to do it right. Wish me luck.
