how to make hair shinier

I think my hair is 4a with a bit of 3c in the middle of my head. I like my hair but I was wondering if there was any way to make my hair shinier like Wesley Jonathans!

His curls dont look much bigger than mine but they are so much shinier. How can i make mine shinier?

Your hair may need some moisture and oil in soaking wet hair to define your curls and add shine.
Try to apply leave in (moisture) and some oil (sealing in the moisture +shine) of choice in to your hair before the gel (hold) by finger raking (defines and seperates the curls) it in your soaking wet freshly washed hair. Dont touch your hair until dry so it doesnt get frizzy.
And dont use a regular towel to dry your hair. Use a microfiber towel or a t-shirt before applying products or just let your hair air dry after applying the products.
    Hair type/properties:
3c hair, high porosity, mediumdensity, low elasticity, fine hair.

    Curly hair routine/regime:
Combine the modified cg-method (low poo) and a modified tightly curly method.
-Condition and leave in: Aubrey Organics, Giovanni Barzilian keratin and argan oil
-Sealer: shea butter, Argan, olive and coconutoil
-Gel: homemade flaxseed gel, Kinky curly custard, Queen Helene Curl royal shaping creme.

I think you're really cute - even if your hair isn't as shiny as you'd like. Good luck with that!
    2/c Coarse hair med. density.
    Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....

Yea I agree with Sara. You could also start doing hot oil treatments weekly or bi-weekly using a mixture of oils like coconut and olive oil or coconut and castor or whatever oils your hair likes. Since i've added a mixture of coconut and castor oil my hair curls tend to be pretty shiny :) Then whatever other products I use usually enhance it.

Castor oil is good for shine. But it's thick so use sparingly. Also you want to clarify your hair periodically to remove buildup from your products.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:

Your hair is so pretty, love your albums!

When you do hot oil treatments, do you sit under a dryer? I know to heat the oil however what do you do after you apply it to your hair?

My hair is shiny when I co-wash so I have not used oils to seal, maybe putting my coconut oil combo on my hair once a week, [I don't use oils to seal].

My hair is naturally oily so I have never used oils, cremes in my hair so I haven't since I went natural. However I do want to increase the shine and make it last.
My hair is "exotic, beautiful and free",,,yeah, that be ME!!!

Thank you :) sometimes I sit under a dryer sometimes I don't. I put the oil in massage it into my hair and on my scalp then I put a plastic shower cap on and either sit under the dryer for 20-30 mins or I just put the cap on and put like a thicker hat or scarf around my head to trap in body heat and leave it on for however long I want while lounging around the house or doing housework then after I'm done I rinse it with warm water and a little conditioner sometimes. I say also make sure you're getting enough fruits and veggies and drinking enough water. I drink a gallon a day or more.
