30 ways with hair

in Growing out
Hi everyone!
I hope I'm posting this in the correct place.
I am currently attempting to grow my hair out from a pixie cut, but what has stopped me in the past is that i always get bored and frustrated with the lack of styling options in the imbetween stages, when its not a pixie and not a bob either and is just a hot mess.
so my suggestion is that we aim to all post a hair style that we have done, one a day, for thirty days, although it doesn't have to be daily, as I know lots of people (myself included) don't have the time to style my hair different on most days!
the more people who join in the more ideas we will all have and hopefully it will make the growing out process a lot more fun!
so this is my official day #1 post!
Hair quiff:
(best done when hair is wet)
section off the middle front of your hair.
lift the hair straight up, and place one finger behind the hair section.
then fold the hair over your finger with your remaining hand.
hold the hair in place and use bobby pins (kirby grips, hair slides, barrettes) to pin the hair into place.
use a gel or holding spray to keep the hair in place.
style your remaing hair as usual.
very easy style, takes 5 mins or less.
good luck curlies!

Something like that (and even shorter)
I think it's super cute, reminds me of anime hair :toothy10:
(Best done when hair is wet)
Comb hair all to one side (I chose left)
Pin any loose ends to make the hair neat.
Style the rest of your hair as usual.
Gel the slicked back side to hold it in place.
Ta da!

the way i did it was:
style hair when wet
brush hair forward
apply mousse and scrunch the front of your hair (the bit of your hair over your forehead) to give shrinkage
style the rest of the hair as usual
..hope that makes sense!
hope some more people join in too...i can't be the only one who struggles to style hair whilst growing it out!!

hi ladies
thank you for the comments!
the reason i chopped all my hair off is because i never did anything with it....and the reason im growing it out is because now i want to do things with it and it is too short to do things like buns and ponytails with :L
its nice to know that my thread is being read though
just hope i can come up with 30 different hairstyles! haha
on to day 4
this is an updo i really liked
i styled my hair when wet as is ususal for me
i combed all of my hair from the nape of my neck forwards
i then pinned the hair down using kirby grips (hair slides, bobby pins)
for some bits of hair i twisted the hair following the direction of the curl before i pinned it down.
the front of my hair i pulled back away from my face to pin down.
i then wore a hairband
i hope that's clearly explained! i fixed it in place with hairspray (just ASDA's Chosen By You range)
voila!
the good thing about this is that there is no certain way it's meant to look so it will be different every time that you do it

bantu knots! it was my first attempt so don't judge too harshly!
there are loads of articles on this site explaining how to do them...but basically its like lots of mini buns on your head! :L

but i must stay focussed!
day #8 is one i like to call the invisible headband!
style hair when wet
take the front part of your hair (fringe if you will)
take very small sections of it, and twist it (like you would if you were putting it in a tiny bun or bantu knot) and pull it backwards as you do so
clip it into place
leave the end free to blend in with rest of hair
and repeat
hope that was clear to you all!
takes about 5-7 minutes
style rest of hair as desired
dry hair
co-wash, yes please!
been natural all my life :thumbright:
You and your hair are gorgeous though!

im glad to be helping someone
day #9
ringlets!
style when wet
takes 10-15 mins, depends on hair length too!
apply an anti frizz serum through wet hair
twist small sections of hair, like you do with bantu knots...just dont knot it though, applying hairspray aftwerwards
leave to dry
dry hair
co-wash, yes please!
been natural all my life :thumbright:
I'm so glad you made this. Unfortunately, I straightened my hair out of frustration and boredom before I saw it though
Such a good idea, I hope lots of people will join in and post hairstyle pics too. There's loads of posts about hair texture pics, but no style pics, and styles are what make having hair fun! I'm definitely going to join in on this
Nice pics so far btw

im so glad to hear that!
day 10!
sorry its taken sooo long to post this up, been a very busy girl lately!
another super easy one here (noticing a theme, anyone?
this is simply wearing your hair picked out
when the hair is DRY, get an afro comb and comb through your hair, gently pulling your hair upwards, or alternatively, do this with your head upside down
spray with hairspray to keep in place
this is my go to style when i don't have time to do my hair! sorry about the rubbish pic, was on my way to work
dry hair
co-wash, yes please!

on that note, style/day number 11
surprised i've got this many tbh!
simple hair up hair down style
style from wet
take the middle section of your hair, tie it up, style the rest as usual.
easy peasy! if you can't tie the hair up you can pin it in place too
dry hair
co-wash, yes please!
been natural all my life :thumbright:
us short hair curlies need some styles too!!!
im getting super super impatient with my hair now, 7 months since last hair cut! (well it will be 7 months in 2 days!) i just want it to grow to the length i want. i dont even want it that long, just long enough to have a super volumous graduated bob, finishing at my ear lobes. not too much to ask.
anyway enough whining!
on to day 12!
this one is very similar to another post i've done where all the hair was to one side, this one is different, i promise! (plus cut me some slack, i've given you 12 hairstyle ideas so far!)
best styled when wet
part your hair in a side parting
bobby pin the side with less hair back
bobby pin a section of the front hair of the side with most hair, underneath another section of hair
easier to do than it sounds!
dont forget ladies i'd love to have some others joining in too!
dry hair
co-wash, yes please!
been natural all my life :thumbright:
another super easy one, because well, how many complicated style can you really have when you've hardly any hair?
anyways this one, as usual, style when wet!
give yourself a middle parting
take a section of the frontish bit of the hair, width of section is up to you
twist aforementioned hair section, as if preparing to do a ringlet or bantu knot
pull the twisted hair towards the back of your head
pin it down
repeat on other side (if desired!)
spray twisted bit with hairspray
style rest of hair as usual
also how amazing is the girls pink hair in the pic attached?! :O :O
also anybody know any hair guru's on fb? if so link me to them? need some inspiration
also does anybody actually try out any of the hairstyles i post?

day 15 is a boring one im afraid...world's smallest bun
also dyed my hair black to escape some boredom...and i love it
just didnt want to include that in a seperate day as that isnt really a style.
getting VERY tempted to chop my hair off again...need some help to stay on track ladies!
for some reason my pic wont upload
sorry about that

Getting very bored and tempted to cut, it's just over 8 months since last haircut! :O
This one is pretty simple
It's kinda like a faux hawk.
Pull the hair towards the middle,
Pin into place,
Spray with hairspray and style the rest of hair as desired
dry hair
co-wash, yes please!
been natural all my life :thumbright:
It's not technically a style but I'm counting it
Dyeing your hair. whilst it won't help it grow it will help get rid of some boredom.
I tried to dye mine blue/black and it's just black :-/
Think I'll let the colour fade out for now as not overly pleaded with it! Sorry about the rubbish pic too!
I'm thinking of maybe getting some layers. I want volume! And lots of it!
dry hair
co-wash, yes please!

Really scraping the bottle of the barrel here-especially as I'm so tempted to cut my hair again! Would be great to have some support on here
So today's style is big hair!
I let my hair dry a bit naturally
Then applied John freida volumising mousse whilst my head was upside down
Fluffed it up loads
Then put my head the right way up ha ha
dry hair
co-wash, yes please!
