Okay so here's my little situation. So at the beginning of this week, i noticed my hair was falling out A LOT more that usual. Like, usually i lose quite a bit of hair every time i finally shampoo. But now every time i get in the shower, i'm losing completely healthy locks (i can see the hair follicles at the ends) and i'm really worried. Within a week i've lost about half of my normal volume and thickness to my hair. Not only that, but my curls that we once about 3a are now about a 2b. Which is making me really upset. I used to not be able to brush my hair curly but now i can easily brush it dry because its so thin. Also, one of my friends told me that my hair seems to be getting less curly everyday.
Can someone help me get my curls back? ;___;

    Ok check and double check and triple check that you are using the same products you've always been using. If its the same products check your eating habits. Any change there? Also is this change only happening to your hair? What about your skin? Are there other changes occuring to the rest your body? Have you been stressed out lately? If you're answering yes to more than two of these questions then please get yourself to a doctor. This could be a sign of a more serious problem.

    Just to pipe in here, you want to see 'healthy' hair with follicles at the end, as this means healthy shedding. If you don't see follicles, it probably means breakage, which means your hair is damaged.

    BUT since you seem to be losing a significant amount I'd go to your GP, to check there aren't any health reasons.

    All my products have been the same for quite a while. I recently tried this hair curling thing because my hair was being really uncooperative for a while and i needed non frizzy curls for my concert band performance. I did it for about 3-4 days then as soon as i washed my hair, i noticed i was losing more hair. Also i used a diffuser for 2 of those days (which i think was a bad choice since my hair DOES NOT like heat products, even though i put heat protectant in)
    The area around my eyes and eyebrows have been getting really irritated and dry lately, too
    That's all i can think of honestly.

    If you have issues with the hair in other places in your body then go to the doctor and get checked out.

    A little over a year ago I noticed that my hair was starting to thin out more than usual, as well. So as most of us do in the modern world, I headed over to my nice little Google box to find out what I could do about it. My research ultimately lead me to the conclusion that the health of my hair was significantly impacted by what I put in my body. When I don't have enough of the essential vitamins and minerals, my hair begins to break and fall out. I started taking a supplement which has made a huge difference. I have made changes to my diet to help with the health of my hair, but I have found that a supplement makes it easier with my life as busy as it gets at time.

    I would do a fingertip check of your head to see if you have any round smooth bald spots. You may have alopecia. If you do, there are a number of ways to treat it but you need to see a dermatologist.

    Unfortunately if you are severely deficient taking an over the counter supplement without taking the right dose won't help you.

    I have a friend who is Vitamin D deficient who was taking the daily recommended amount of Vitamin D. When her hair started to fall out she went to get tested for for nutrient deficiences amongst other things and now has to take 2.5 times the amount.

    my hair has been thinning, falling out and curling less too lately. i got my hormones tested, and my hormones were totally wacky. i'm hoping once my hormones get regulated, my hair will go back to normal. another possibility is mineral buildup, or your shampoo may be irritating your scalp or missing some sort of mineral.
