'Gentle' sulfates ei coco bentaine

Does anyone find that cleansers with the above ingredient or some equivalent dries out your hair? I just finished my nice & curly 3-in-1 cleanser & I found that even though it was a 'sulfate free' cleanser it dried out my hair. Should it do that?

Depends on the low poo. I've tried a couple that left my hair dry, more so than a gentle sulfate shampoo did. Btw, while coco betaine is a surfactant, it isn't a sulfate.

Coco betaine doesn't dry my hair out. It could be something else in the shampoo you're using. Maybe you could post the ingredients and other curlies could look & see what the culprit could be.

Ingredients: water, methyl glucose dioleate, cocaimidopropyl bentaine, matricaria flower extract, green tea leaf extract, hydrolyzed soy protein, sunflower seed oil, panthenol, polyquat -10, peg-150 distearate, glycol stearate, polyquat-47, peg 100 stearate, cetyl bentaine, cco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate, amodimethicone, glycerin, C11-15 pareth-7, laureth-9, trideceth -12, benzophenone-4, tri sodium ethylenediamine disuccinate, citric acid, diazolidinyl urea, iodoprpynyl, butycarbamate, almond oil, fragrance. When I purchased this I didn't see the silicone in it therefore making it not cg friendly.

I have seen others post that polyquats are drying and cause frizz. I don't have any issues with polyquats so I can't speak from personal experience, but a lot of people seem to have issues with them.
