Shampoo suggestions?

I have very fine, 2a, low porosity hair that builds up easy. I mostly co wash every 2 or 3 days and use shampoo on days that I need a good cleaning. I need a gentle shampoo as my hair dries up really bad if it is too harsh (even if I use just use a small amount). I tried Loreal's sulfate free system and after about two weeks I had so much build up on my hair, it looked like I hadn't showered in a month... So before I go out and "cherry pick" a bunch of products, I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions I should try? Needs to be gentle, but still cleansing enough for my fine hair.

Thanks!

Depending on which loreal ever_ you were using, some of the shampoos have silicones in them (very disappointing).

If you want to stick to drugstore brands, some popular ones are Yes to Cucumbers (the one that says sulphate free on the bottle), Shea Moisture (if you've tried the curl & shine or restorative, and they were too heavy- try the baby head to toe wash!), Giovanni smooth as silk or 50/50.

Experimenting with Got2B Ultra gel and loving it so far!

Shea Moisture's Moisture Retention Shampoo is my favorite shampoo in the whole world!!

However if i really need to clarify i use Suave Juicy Green Apple or their Clarifying shampoo. Which has sulfates, yeah....but it works for me :)

So I decided to get the Shea Moisture. I have heard a lot of people on here raving about it, but I was skeptical. I am super glad that I did buy it. I used it this morning and my hair feels UH-MAZING. It really smoothed out my hair, no frizz and no dryness. The funny thing is though my hair dried almost completely straight. The ends are curly, and there is a slight wave in my hair but not the crazy weird waves I used to have. Since my hair has grown out a lot, the wave has been loosening up, but I haven't seen it quite like this before. I am not complaining though, I like it! :)

So, since this isn't a "traditional" shampoo, can I use it like every other day? I love this product, I wish I would have known about it years ago! :)

Glad you got on so well with it! I use SM too (the one in my signature) and love it.

SM shampoos are gentle enough to used whenever you want as they are 'low-poos' and contain CG-friendly, awesome ingredients. So you don't need to worry :)

I also just switched to SM shampoo, the Coconut & Hibiscus. LOOOVVVEEE ITT!! I have a hard time seeing this dry out anybody's hair from using it too often.

I use the Sauve clarifying shampoo to clarify once a month & love it. (Deep condition after using because it may dry out your hair) I've used the sm curl enhancing shampoo & like it. If you're not opposed to silicones, try the nice & curly shampoo smells good. (ok but deep condition after because it will dry out your hair)

The reason the nice & curly line is drying for my hair is because of the salt that's in it. Due to the salt, I can't use the shampoo often.
