My dream hair cream...is a men's product?

Has anyone else tried American Crew Forming Cream? My husband uses it on his short, straight hair, and because I'm a product junkie I decided to try it one day. It's awesome!! I have a hard time finding a product that doesn't weigh down my long, fine 2a hair, but also doesn't turn it into ramen noodles. The forming cream seems to be a good compromise between definition and clumping. After drying my hair with a T-shirt, I just smooth and scrunch a small (fingertip's worth) amount into sections (left side, right side, and back) and let air dry. I love it so much!
2aFii (Fia system), normal-high porosity

Poo: John Frieda Full Repair
Lo-poo: still looking...
Condish: Suave Rosemary Mint
Stylers: BB Texture, AC Forming Cream

Working on growing my hair out since most of my wave is below my ears.

My revlon speed dryer is my friend!

My husband uses American Crew products (though not that particular one) but they contain silicones so I haven't tried them.

Ah, the forming cream does not contain any silicone. It does contain alcohol, but it's a very small amount (it's way down on the list close to the fragrance components).

i'd love to see a pic of your hair with this stuff, I'm always on the lookout for easy products that won't weigh down my fine 3a hair. It sounds great!

Hi Ondulee, sorry for the delay. It's been very cold where I am, so I've been washing my hair at night and sleeping on it (which isn't really a fair representation of what the cream does to my hair). My hair is still a bit damp in this picture, but it's a fairly good representation of how it looks. The waves will loosen up as the day goes on, but I find if I just scrunch a little extra forming cream back in it helps them perk up. Hope this helps!

Being the pj that I am, I had to look up the ingredients.

Water (Aqua), Petrolatum, Cetearyl Alcohol, Bis Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate 2, Lanolin Wax (Lanolin Cera), PVP, Propylene Glycol, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax (Carnauba), Ceteareth 25, VP/VA Copolymer, Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Ozokerite, Diethylhexyl Maleate, PEG 40 Castor Oil, Alcohol Denatured, PEG 10 Soy Sterol, Sucrose (Sugar), Cereus Grandiflorus (Cactus) Flower Extract (Cactus), Glycerin, Fragrance (Parfum), Alpha Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Cinnamate, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methlyproprional, Coumarin, Citral, Citronellol, Geraniol, Hexylcinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Hydroxyisohexyl 3 Cyclohexene Carboxalde, Limonene, Linalool, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Phenoxyethanol

Glad you found something you love. You need to be careful, if you don't shampoo. There are a lot of products that could cause build up issues for you--

That's a good point Kathymack. For me it doesn't matter because I find I have to shampoo no matter what; both no poos and low poos weighed down my hair too much, even when I was strictly CG.
