Itching from.. ??

So... I've never had any scalp issues at any point in my life, but I woke up about 4am with the crown of my head itching like crazy!! At first I thought I had a normal itch, but then the more I scratched it, the worst it got. It got me up out of bed, because it was that bad. I massaged some coconut oil into the spot, and after about 10 minutes it subsided. However, my scalp in that area is irritated. I low poo'ed this morning, and I could feel the irritation as I was working it into my hair and scalp. Might be from the heavy scratching.

I was sporting the start of day 4 hair. I had used FSG and CJ Repair Me as stylers. Everything else that I used was normal, these were the only two that I started using and/or using in a different way. I never washed out anything in my hair in the previous 3 days, just wet it down. CJRM has yeast in it, and I know flax seed can go bad. Would the FSG go bad in my hair and make me itch? Was it the yeast from wetting my hair, since it likes to grow in moist environments? Since I've washed, the itching is gone.

If anybody has any thoughts, that would be great.

Personally, I always use preservative when making my FSG or okra gel. The first time I made FSG and didn't preserve it, it smelled "off" in about 5 days (not refrigerated.) If you aren't totally wetting and rinsing, I wouldn't use any non preserved products. It's an open invitation to problems.

I'm allergic to a lot of products--anything Bioterra, CK, the original SM li to name a few popular products. If you search, there's an old thread about propylene glycol allergy. It's a common one.

ARe you putting stylers close to your scalp? I never do... so depending on if you do or don't that might give you a clue.

I have allergies that I haven't pinpointed to many many shampoos, and on top of that I have SD. It's a good idea to pin point whether it's SD or an allergy... because treatment will differ greatly.

Thanks for the responses! I don't have any skin or scalp problems, so I'm guessing it's from the FSG. I didn't really think that one through very well. I haven't had any problems like that since I washed my hair that day.
