Long or short

So I had cut my hair to neck length from waste length...it took way less time...was easier and cheaper. People told me it made me look younger too. I mainly cut because I was about to have an abdominal hysterectomy and there was no way I'd be able to keep up with it while I was recovering. So now I'm all better and I was gonna grow some again...no where near as long as before but maybe BSL. I also made some revelations thru browsing this board and Pinterest and I think I understand why I appear to be thinning and limp on top so I think I can fix it. So now my dilemma is to grow longer or cut shorter. I have found some great styles for both. Right now it's longer on the sides which I hate...I want it rounder. Here are some styles I thought were cute...what do u think? Which is better?

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

I'm gonna call and make an appt with my stylist for Halloween....any preferences between those styles I posted?

    P.s.
She decorates her shop for Halloween and dresses up really gory. She's probably gonna scare the crap outta me! Lol

Looking at your album, and based on the shape of your facial features and head, my preference is for that very first pic in your first post because it seems you would look good with more height and body at the crown.

Thanks. I do think the long weighs my face down. Its hard to get any height with it...it just lays there

You're welcome ;) I have the same issue and the one thing that has been corrective is relatively short layers at and around the crown area. ... So are you leaning toward a particular look at this point? Are you going to get a cut in a couple days from your gory stylist?
  • GoddessCurlsGoddessCurls Registered Users Posts: 1,537
Yeah...got my appt tomorrow. My issue is most parts of my hair tend to get less curly the shorter they are so I was actually trying to let some of the shorter layers in the canopy area grow some cause they don't form ringlets anymore...just kinda like deep zig-zags. So I'm afraid if my layers are too short I'll loose curl definition and have frizz

I really like that blonde one I posted. Those cute little front pieces she's got going...i don't know that my curls would do it like that.

I am gonna go shorter I really like the short ones I posted they are sassy. And the longer ones I posted...my hair would never fall that way

Oh, I see. I need to remember not everyone's hair gets curlier as it gets shorter ;) Sounds like you know the behavior of your hair pretty well. I bet that will make it a lot easier to communicate your needs to your stylist.

Yeah, that middle cut looks fairly easy to achieve. Good luck! :blob4: If things turn out well - and they probably will - and if you're up to it, I hope you'll consider posting your results ;)

I love my stylist. So I hope it comes out good. Right now I don't know if it's my curl pattern or not but my sides are longer than the back with I don't like. The shorter I get I have to remember I can't comb as much...the curl patter is weaker so combing in the shower only while the stream is on me. After that finger combing only

I see your point ... Based on your album and these new short pics, my personal preference for you is short :) I think short does bring out your features more.

Will you be taking more pics - those are a little dark so it's hard to see what your curls actually look like.

Very good! I bet this will be a lot easier to take care of too ;) Are these pics with or without product (a styler like gel)?
  • GoddessCurlsGoddessCurls Registered Users Posts: 1,537
Just a little water spritz to reactive the products from yesterday. And I'm pretty sure all age used was Curly Sexy Hair curl cream
