Has anyone tried Spiralicious, yet?

I'm curious about Jessicurl's new harder hold gel. Has anyone tried it? Is it like KCCC or BRHG, maybe? I want more info before I dish out the dough to buy a bottle.

I won't because it has polyquat 11. It's a very glue like ingredient. Your hair will be very clumpy and frizz free, but it's the type of flexible crunch that can't be scrunched out. No thank you Jessicurl.

I bought it and I love it. I am basically getting exact same results as i was using two products (confident coils and gelebration spray) except I now have almost zero frizz. Thats a win for me. I don't find it to be sticky or snotty feeling like some gels can be and it scrunches out just fine, no crunch. It is quickly becoming my new favorite.

I'd like to see more reviews myself. Reviews at curlmart are very good so far. I admit I want to try this out. I wished aveyou.com carried it.

I don't like it so far. It's more of a cream gel and does NOT have strong hold like the description says... Deva Light Defining Gel has more hold for me.

    Made my hair very limp.

That's too bad. I just ordered the free sample from Jessicurl. Hopefully it's enough to try atleast two different times in my hair, This way I can get a better feel of how I like it. We shall see.

any update on this new gel? was it really a harder hold gel? I find most gels that say they are hard hold aren't really...at least in my hair.

Just tried this for the first time today. It's a harder hold gel than anything else Jessicurl has, but I would put the actual hold level around a medium.

    I wished aveyou.com carried it.

They do now, as of today. Curlmart had the exclusive on it for the month of October.

I ordered a sample and loved it, so I ordered a bottle today from aveyou along with some other JC products.

The hold wasn't as hard as say LAL or BRHG, but the frizz control, clumping, and definition I got was crazy good. I even got third day hair. THREE! Some are saying they are getting build up from it, but I'm willing to try it since I got amazing results from the sample. I'll report back after I've used it a few more times. I will say, this is the first styling product I've been excited about in a while. Most things work pretty well for me, my hair is fairly agreeable. But this stuff was AWESOME.

I got my sample in the mail yesterday so was excited to try it out today!

I normally need a really hard holding gel (I like to mix CJ Curl Queen or CJ PP with BRHG) and I think it's doing a decent job on its own. I used Oyin Hair Dew as my leave-in, KCCC and then Spiralicious as my gel.

I do agree that while it gives me nice clumps and waves and decent hold, it's taking forever to dry.

I've received my sample as well but have not had a chance to try it out. I've been having awesome results with ck so I've not been using anything else. I will try this soon though. I should've used it today since I didn't go anywhere :angry3:.

Similar texture and feel, but the JC is a creamy color.

I use UFD more as my curl enhancer layer, but I always have to top it with a harder hold gel.

Spiralicious seemed to have the hold that UFD doesn't give me (I live in a very humid climate and have coarse hair, so clumps staying intact is my #1 concern).

I promise I'll report in more detail after I get mine and play with it a few times.

I'm still loving it. I havent had any issues with build up. I was having that with Confident Coils and that sucked so this is a happy improvement. Its keeping my curl definition nice even on second day hair (which is a ponytail....lol. I can't acheive second day with it down regardless of product). Good stuff! :)

had a vague memory of not being interested in spiralicious, so i just looked at the ingredient list -- ingredients #2 and 3 are polyquats. :-( my hair can tolerate an occasional polyquat, or one wwwaaaayyyy down on the ingredient list, but not 2 right at the top of the list.

I just wanted to give my review for this product. I'm pretty impressed, and it's been a very long time since I've been impressed with a new product. I've never tried Jessicurl products before because by the time I'd heard about them, I was over being a product junkie. This thread intrigued me, and because it had been so long since I tried anything, I decided to order some free samples. I tried the Spiralicious today, and as I said, I'm pretty impressed. I used it alone with no LI (I don't use a LI ever). I think I used just a tad too much because my hair looked just a *smidge* on the product-y side at the end of the day. Not enough that anyone else would notice, but I did. However, this stuff gave me well-defined, frizz-free curls, in the wind, all.day.long. I got compliments on my hair all day. So many people noticed that I was giving out Jessicurl's web address left and right lol! What impresses me the most is that I got these great results by using just one product. Normally, I layer two products to get results that are not as good as the results from this one product. I also had no trouble scrunching it out. Time will tell if I keep getting these results, but I'm pretty pleased with it so far.
    2C/3A, fine, higher porosity.

Used it tonight. I used some leave in and split my hair in half. On Half I used a small puddle of JCRR and Spiralicious and the other half just the Spiralicious. My hair seems to be drying faster than with other gels. So far it looks shiny and I have a slight crunch. I can tell I have more curl enhancement on the side with the RR. I will see how my hair is tomorrow. Oh, and the dews are low here, under 20. I have a bottle in my aveyou cart in hopes this will work. I'm not really worried about buildup from the polyquats since my volumax has one (2?) and I've never had issues with it. I'd love to hear how others are using this. I didn't have to use much either, which is nice, I may have used a nickel sized puddle on each half of my hair. I usually use a LOT of gel in My hair.

So, I received my bottle on Monday and have been experimenting. I'm still loving this gel! I've used it multiple days in a row so I could test how it works with other products.

Today I used it with my "normal" tried and true routine (cowashed, used CJ curl rehab as a RO, sealed with grape seed oil on ends, no LI). On soaking wet hair, I raked in Okra gel and topped with Spiralicious. I used about 2 smallish dime-sized puddles on my hair. I normally use a ton of gel on top of my okra gel or curl enhancer- probably 2 quarter sized blobs. So, I used quite a bit less of this than I normally do. I think I will use a bit more next time.

The past two days I had been experimenting with different (new) curl enhancers as well, so I couldn't really tell which was causing the good hair.

I am still amazed at the definition, clumping, and volume I get with this gel! And there is NO frizz. My hair is so good today I know I will be good to go tomorrow and possibly the next!

My next experiment will be to use this alone. Wish me luck, lol!

As an aside, I also purchased the JC cleansing cream. It reminds me of CJ gentle cleansing shampoo- the island fantasy scent even smells the same to me.

I've tried this twice. The second time I used too much oil to seal so I knew that my hair wouldn't turn out so great. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I have enough of my sample left to use it one more time. I'm definitely ordering a bottle or two. I like the fact that my hair does not feel producty, even on second day hair. It feels soft and silky.

It's a brand new product, which was initially carried only by CurlMart. It's only been available elsewhere, even directly from Jessicurl, since the 1st of November. It should be showing up in the UK anytime, but perhaps it would be worthwhile to contact the Curly Emporium to ask when they expect to start carrying it.

I used the rest of my sample today and I have to say that I'm in love with this gel (?). I need some more. So if anyone has a bottle they are willing to part with, PM me please. :D. :love5:
Otherwise, I may have to break down and place an order sooner than I planned. Seriously, this is the third time using this and I just love the results. Today I used JC Too Shea As a leave-in, sealed with JCN&S and topped with maybe a quarter size total of the Spiralicious gel and I'm loving it. It seems to play well with any leave-in I've used it with so far. To top it off, the dew point is 10 today! So if it's working for those in higher dews and for me in lower dews, what more could I ask for?
