I'm Gonna Try It! Advice Appreciated.

So I've been doing some research for quite some time now and am ready to take a dive in and try a low-poo method. I live in Guatemala, so I can't get most products in stores that are curly friendly. I'm ordering online and before I press the BUY button, I want some advice to make sure I'm buying the right stuff.

My hair is between a 3a and 3b, fine texture, low to regular porosity (don't really know).

This is what my plan is (based on what I've read on the boards):
Suave Naturals Conditioner as Co-wash
VO5 Conditioner as Rinse Out
Renpure Luxurious Argan Oil Shampoo as Low-Poo (Intend on using once a week)
Renpure Brazilian Keratin Straightening Conditioner as Leave In
Giovanni Smooth As Silk Deep Moisture Shampoo as Clarifier

I still don't know what to buy for styling product. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them! Or is you see something not right with my plan, please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help!

I haven't really tried them, but I've been wanting to order stuff too (I live in Chile).. and I'm also a bit scared (mostly about shipping costs and stuff like that).

    Good luck :love2:

Tocinito, I have a DPO box, which is a great advantage, so I don't have to pay extra shipping costs or taxes!

Do you need a clarifying shampoo if you plan to low-poo once a week?

There is a silicone quaternium in that conditioner, are you following the Curly Girl method?

I wouldn't have thought so. If I were you, hold off from buying the clarifier for now and see how you get on with just low-pooing.

Thanks for the advice, sarahthegemini. And Firefox, what conditioner are you talking about. I do want to do the CG method.

Ok, nevermind. I see the Brazilin Keratin Conditioner has the silicone in it. :( What leave-in would you recommend?

The silicone-quaternium 17 is water soluble, and thus acceptable for the CG method. I would definitely recommend the Renpure keratin conditioner! It smells awesome and makes my hair really soft. It works well for me as a RO or LI.

Ruth Marie, thank you for the information. I'd forgotten about the "good" silicones. Makes a difference. I will definitely get the Renpure Keratin then!

Check the ingredients if you decide to get the Renpure Brazilian Keratin Straightening conditioner. I've heard they've added amodimethicone to it, which isn't CG friendly.

There's a-cone in it now? I picked mine up at Walgreens a month or so ago and didn't see any in the bottle I picked up, but I'll check next time I run out.

Here is a list of what cleanser is needed to take out what silicone. It seems to me you can get by on low pooing only if it contains coco betaine.
    2c-3a - med-coarse - normal-high porosity - high density

Apparently there are bottles of the old formula still around, but they have definitely reformulated the Straightening conditioner to contain a-cone. Corrinna777 posted pics of a new bottle in this post.

I got my Renpure Brazilian Keratin Straightening conditioner today and it does have Amodimethicone. :( So sad. I'm going to have to return it. I ordered mine off Amazon and the ingredients on the product description page didn't show it, but I guess they just haven't updated the list.
