AM detangling

My 2 year old daughter gets a bath in the evening and I comb her hair with lots of condition in it. But in the morning, it's a tangled mess. She is a restless sleeper, often her pillow is on the other side of the crib, so I don't think a satin pillow case would help. And she won't let me do much with her hair, so as much as I would love to try the braids before bed idea, it would be impossible. I use this spray California Baby | Natural & Organic Products | Calming Hair Detangler Spray and it does a decent job detangling but it makes her hair feel dry & crunchy...maybe her hair doesn't like the protein? Anyway, any other detangling ideas? Thanks!

Prevention really is better than cure, not least due to morning time constraints if not a battle of wills. Can get satin bottom sheets or secure sleeping bonnets, could try putting her hair in a quick 'pineapple' if not a braid. The more often you shampoo and detangle ultimately the more damage is done, many wavies and curlies find the less they comb the less they need to comb.

I am glad you mentioned this post as I have no idea how to start a thread on here. I have an soon to be 8month and 2yr old. Their father is black and I'm puerto rican and european. I have wavy/curly hair but they have really cjrly hair. What do you suggest I do to detangle it. They do not like water on their head so its hard to really wash/rinse anything out. I have attached a photo of them, not sure if it worked but if you have any ideas please let me know.

I am not sure how to start a new thread on the app, but on a computer, there is a button called new thread once you're in a specific forum.

I am not a parent, but my guess would be that you would need to distract them with a cartoon or detangle while they sleep. Are the children afraid of having their heads/faces submerged in water? If this is the case, try watching their hair in the kitchen sink. Have them lay on their backs and use the spray tool. On nonwash days, you can use a spray bottle and use a little bit of conditioner and/or gel to tame flyaways and frizzies.

Try spraying the detangler on your hands, then smoothing it over their hair, let it soak in a bit, then only detangle with your fingers, not a comb or brush.

I think others gave you some good ideas. I use the CA Baby Spray on my hair as a protein spray (my hair doesn't tangle, even when I sleep) and it never feels dry or crunchy. I use it as the first product on, so maybe you need to add a leave in or jelly type product for moisture.
