slimssocoilyslimssocoily Posts: 143Registered Users
Anybody else do wash and go's! Lets just start off by saying I have not done this in a while and thought I should give this a go since I don't have time to twist my hair..School and work is taking over my life well enough of the venting...

I read somewhere that in some hair textures that it doesn't work mostly in the 4's section.... Have any of yous tried this? If so what are your results?... Me I used Tresemme naturals conditioner and this is my result

Wash n go high puffs are my go to style. I can't just leave it out because shrinkage causes SSKs and my hair is like 3 different lengths right now. I use my conditioner as a leave-in without gel or oil, my hair likes minimal product and manipulation.
I sometimes lightly oil my scalp with grapeseed oil but only after I shampoo. I'm currently using yes to carrots and it's the love of my life lol. I can keep my wash n go puff in for 3-4 days just spritzing only my ends with water and baggying the puff for 20 minutes or overnight for moisture.

I like the look but stopped doing a lot of w and g when my hair got longer because of tangles and ssk's. But I did a modified version last weekend because I was really busy and desperately needed to cowash bc dryness. I washed that afternoon. Kept it in four big clips for an hour to stretch.then did a puff. I got a lot of compliments.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:

I don't think there is any such thing as a wash n go not working. I think it's more of an issue of liking the way your hair looks with a wash n go and like adthomas mentioned the ability to maintain a wash n go without too much tangling.

Any hair can be washed and left alone. I can't wash n go with conditioner only at this point. I don't do styles, cause I'm lazy and I like my curl pattern, but it's a must for me to use a product with hold if I'm going to sleep on it. I don't get much in the way of overall tangle, but those SSKs happen.

Your wash and go looks gorgeous! I'm pretty much a wash and go guy. Well, co-wash and go. I began co-washing exclusively two months ago. I basically just towel dry, tousle and apply hairspray. Never been happier.

I get tangles stretched or wng. However when I use the conditioner as my styling product when it is time to wash my hair it is already lubricated and the tangling is not ridiculous.

I hate my wash and gos. My hair shrinks up to my dang ears (I'm sorry but at BSL I want some length darn it) and even worse, it tangles soooo badly! It would work a lot better if I used gels I'm sure but I don't, the closest I'll get to one is a curl cream. I DO have a curl cream now with some interesting hold but I haven't tried a W&G cause I'm too scared. Lol!

I def do wash and go's. I work at night and I'm always running late for work. I'm going to have to find another method soon because The weather won't be suitable for me to walk out the house half air dried. I cowash with hello hydration and layer my SM CES and SM soufflé with a little coconut oil on my ends. Two pictures are of my hair when I wash and go and put it in a puff. The third is when I leave it out (very rare). Please excuse my childish ways of drawing on mirrors and the party behind me in one of those pics. I don't have just hair pics yet. I do wash and go's all the time, but i've been bunning lately and only letting my hair down on the weekends. Plus it's been cold so i have been doing dry braids. My avi picture is a wash n go. I get ton's of shrinkage but I don't mind anymore.

Is bunning as simple as it sounds? Putting your hair in a bun? If so, I'd be less partial to it. One, because I'm obsessed with have a bang (due to my fivehead). And two, wouldn't it kind of cause more stress on my hair to actually pull it up into a bun and keep it there 90% of the time?

It is exactly what it sounds like, but I do my buns loosely, i do not sleek my edges or do them perfectly. Nor do I bun tightly. Since the weather is cooling off a bit, i have been doing braid outs and buns on stretched dry hair.
I guess it all depends on how you bun? :)

Yea shrinkage sucks but I learn to deal with it!! I know everyone likes to see length because they work so hard to maintain their hair. Hmm..curl cream might work not sure but if you try it and you don't like it just twist or braid your hair up. Thank you for your response

Oh it's no problem! I detangle in sections with Tresemme Naturals and then put them into twists and in a cap overnight. By morning I take out the twists in the shower and rinse about 50% of the conditioner out. I then add Trader Joes Tea Tree tingle and massage that through my hair as a whole. I gently pat it dry with a T-shirt and then I'm on with my day!

My wash go lasts about a week, and then I repeat the process above. I normally just spritz when a mixture of jojoba oil and water in the mornings on my non wash go days! HTH!

I do wash n go's its the only way my hair comes out with any definition, However, my shrinkage is a beast!! My hair is past shoulder/collar bone when stretched, but with a wash n go it not to my ear lobes lol . I love BIG hair but I can't for the life of me do a good twist/braid out that last anymore then a few hours no matter what I use (even Eco Styler and As I Am...)
Low Porosity 3c/4a hair, natural for the second time since Feb 2011. Shea Butter (of any kind) is not my friend :cwm10: :laughing9:
