Thick hair and hair tie problem?

Does anyone else have really thick hair and feel that the regular goodie hair ties are really tight when you put your hair up in a high bun?

I normally use the silicone hair ties that goodie makes but they keep breaking on me so i bought the regular no metal elastics. I out my hair up the other day in a high bun and it killed my head. Waaay too tight. The silicone ones are a little looser then the no metal ones but my question is is there a hair tie meant for thick hair???

I dont like scrunches because they cover the bun too much.

Thanks!

Try the ribbon elastic style. they're very comfortable and stretchy! I buy mine on etsy but I've been seeing them recently at target. Here's a sample of what they look like.

Pixie in Pumps: Review: Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics
    2C/ Coarse/ Normal porosity/ SW Florida/ Salt & Pepper
Cleanse: AIA cowash, TJ Tea Tree Condish
Condish: JC Too Shea, Tresemme Botanique
Stylers: flax/okra gel or KCCC + CJ PP or JC Spiralicious
Experimenting with Got2B Ultra gel and loving it so far!

I just saw those in walmart today :)

Scunci has hair bands that are larger and thicker than the normal ones. They say "thick hair" on the package. They hold my hair a little better than the silicone bands.

Nope, you twist them in and twist them out the reverse way, never just yank. They are commonplace on longhair forums, and those ladies are obsessed with gentle. You can get cheap knocks offs on eBay if you want to try them, they don 't have little 'bobbles' on the ends tho so you might want to add a dab of nail polish or glue to form one. Check them out on YouTube, you will see people screwing them in and out.
