Your favourite haircut?? And haircut ideas

PyjamaLlamaPyjamaLlama Posts: 72Registered Users
I was just wondering what everyone's favourite haircut has been - what length, layers, colour etc - for wearing their hair wavy
I'm getting my haircut soon, either this week or next week, and I'm unsure of what to do. I've been having pretty good, consistent hair days recently, but I'm not sure whether that is to do with the length (around BSL when wavy) or other factors like going fully CG, different dew points or using more gel.
I attached a couple of pictures of my hair, the first is a couple of weeks ago and the second is today

Thank you for your time :)

There is not a one size fits all approach, we don't all have the same curl pattern all over our head, we have finer or coarser hair. A good cut will work with your hair to give it volume and shape without poof. Have you considered a curly specialist haircut?

I like the look of a fairly blunt hemline on me, which is impossible since my underlayer at the back barely waves. Trying to grow out my bangs to have the front (2c) longer than the back (2a/b).

Think carefully on permanent colour, it is always damaging whatever a stylist claims and can leave you with more than one hair type/ porosity/ elasticity on the same head. I adore my colour (rich pink-red) and I do get a lot of compliments but it is effort to care for, even tho it's only lifted a couple of shades from mouse to mid blonde underneath, I didn't need to fry it with persulphate bleach.
2a-2c, medium texture, porous/ colour treated. Three years CG. Past bra strap length heading for waist.

CO-wash: Inecto coconut/ Elvive Volume Collagen
Treatments: Komaza Care Matani, coconut/ sweet almond/ fractionated coconut oils, Hairveda Sitrinillah
Leave in: Fructis Sleek & Shine (old), Gliss Ultimate Volume, various Elvive
Styler: Umberto Giannini jelly, Au Naturale styling gelee
Flour sack towel, pixie diffuse or air dry.
    Experimenting with: benign neglect

    Thank you for your replies!!
Chupie, exactly how I feel. At least I know hairstyles not to have from previous experiences haha
Firefox, our hair sounds really similar - the way my hair curls more at the front drives me crazy!! Have you found any good ways of coping with both?
I dont think I mentioned it, but I think I have fine, medium density hair with normal leaning towards high porosity.
I'm wondering whether my hair (or more specifically the back) will wave up more with a shorter cut? Like armpit length? Or will it be less wavy?

Mine got wavier when I cut it shorter for the most part. I seem to have lost the wave at the nape of my neck though. good thing it's underneath the rest! lol

My favorite cut for me is my chin length asymmetrical bob. It's easy to care for, and looks stylish I think....I do miss being able to put my hair up, though.

I always thought my hair would be wavier when it's shorter but I was wrong! My hair is past my shoulders now and wavier than ever. I think it's because my waves don't really start until my ears and when it's cut short, I lose them. I still adore short hair but I'm loving my waves too!:flower:
    2a, fine-med. text, normal porosity (I think)

For me I'm the same as hippiechic81. I have more wave when its longer. I cut August 2012 from bsl to bob and regretted it. Now it's nearly bsl its much better.

Everyone's replies are interesting. I have no idea which applies to me, I have quite a short layer on the back of my head that always hangs straight, but it was always straighter when it was longer. :S
Anyway, I'm literally getting my hair cut in half an hour (lol) so I'll keep you updated! I'll probably have 2/3 inches off, maybe more, to make my hair more managable. I suffer from chronic vertigo, so washing and styling my hair makes me feel awful (sometimes 1 hour+ recovery time) so I would really like to spend less time on my hair!! I'm just looking for the happy medium between versatility, quickness and waviness!!

Just have to empathize about the chronic vertigo. I had it for years so I completely understand having to recover from everyday activities that most people take for granted (and all the while trying to remain positive!). Hope the haircut helps and looks the way you want!

Thank you!! :) and yeah, it's horrible, when you feel so bad you can't even get up :( I hope your vertigo is under control, and you are feeling ok!!
Anyway, I got lots cut of, about 4 inches :O I really like the length now, my head feels so much lighter.
It's going to take a couple more washes for it to 'calm down' but the initial results look good. The waves were really uniform...my hair is never uniform lol.
