How many pairs of shoes do you own?

Approximately
What shoe category is most heavily represented? Where would you want to beef up your collection? What's the "best" pair you have? How important do you think shoes are in terms of your outfits and your wardrobe? (i.e., they make the outfit or they are a mere afterthought or something else?) Do you think more than a certain number of shoes is too many?

I need dressy flats. In the summer I only ever wear flip flops during the day, then heels or boots at night. I need some cute flats to get out of the flip flop routine!

As for the question on the shoes...I'm not sure how many. I'd have to count when I'm at home. That does include boots too, right? I would say that most of my shoes are heels or wedges. My fav are a pair of Santana leopard print. I feel that the shoes can make or break my outfit. They are an accessory like my jewelry. I wear a lot of black in the Winter, so I'm looking for some heels in bright colors.
Every person has a unique connection to the Creator that can never be extinguished, and every person has a great soul that can manifest important things in our world. To make a person feel less than they are because of something inside themselves, be it faith, race, or sexual orientation, is the greatest sin of all."

The only thing I currently need in that department are winter slippers, thanks to Mia/Mimi and her slipper-eating issue.

I think all genres are represented in my collection.
I probably have 50 or more. I have everything (although it never feels that way to me!). Boots, sandals, flip flops, heels, ballet flats, wedges. The only thing I don't own are platforms. Not my style.

I really want to replace my Doc's. They were one of the pairs ruined in the closet, I got them in 92 and they were ruined in 2002. I had worn them out! The soles were slick. If I can find the exact same pair (black with rainbow thread & laces), I will re purchase. They were well worth it.

idk...30ish... I used to have about 60 but gave a lot away. I have a lot of ballet flats, which I really like. I also have several pairs of mules with heels. I like to look good for work, which includes wearing nice shoes, but my feet are an in-between size. That makes wearing heels a pain (pun intended). Mules are a great compromise for me. Re: brands, I really like Joan & David.
I wish I had more of...everything, really. I guess I'd especially like some nice heels, but they're just not practical for me.
I don't know what my best current pair would be. The best I've had though would be Bally wedges with an ankle chain. They were about $300 (I got them either on sale or on Ebay), but they weren't comfortable. I sold them on Ebay.
As far as how many is too many, Imelda Marcos-level is too many. Other than that, I'm not sure...

I recently got rid of a bunch of old and dogged ones and thought I had only about 20 pairs left. But I started to count and realized I have more than 65 pairs left.
I'm including boots, sneakers and sandals. Not including house slippers or rubber flip flops (I love my rubber flip flops but somehow I just can't call them shoes.)
The types of shoes that are overrepresented for me are: UNCOMFORTABLE and TOO HIGH!
I wish I could find more really cool, nice looking pairs w/ 3-4 inch heels. I don't ever want to buy anything over 4 inches ever again.
I HATE those classic (ie, plain, boring) pointy-toe, black, spike heel pumps and never buy them. like these:
But I feel a tad remiss for not owning a pair. Like less than a woman, like still a child.:-|
I have a similar pair for interviews and such, but I recently bought these and love them. Surprisingly comfortable and reminiscent of the $900 Valentino Rockstuds that I daydream about. I got them in nude and black, super cute!
Me too! It's hard in general for me to find a basic black pair of pumps that I like. I don't like pointy toes at all.

What I hate are pointy toe shoes that are super flat. Like these:
They would be a perfectly cute little ballet flat if the toe was round.
I love them in the yellow & white worn by the model! Would be great if they came in navy & white, too! What's the brand?
Here at Sole Society
They're also sold at Nordstroms, so I bought the first pair there at the b&m store, and ordered the second online. I wish they were leather but at that price, I guess you can't be too picky. They aren't like workhorse shoes anyway, so no biggie.

Target currently has a version (if, by "end," you mean "toe"). But they aren't leather and probably wouldn't be very practical if you have cold winters.
50-60 Most are heels, dressy or somewhat casual. Lately I've been more into flat sandals(flip flop style) since I want to be comfy. I want more comfortable wedges. Because I need to get out of wearing flats, not my style but need them to be comfy. The only wedges I have that are very comfy are my ugg ones.
I love those pointed yellow heels someone posted..but the site is US only..anything available to the UK or worldwide would be great!
