Coils forming into balls at hair end

in Hair Type 4
Hi, does anyone have similar experiences? My last professional trim was 6 wks ago and yet I still have this problem. I look at other 4b/c styling videos and their ends seem to stay detangled or at least somewhat smoothed out. My coils are literally the size of coffee stirrers, so maybe that may be a factor..? My hair is always washed in sections, detangled and put in wet twists. I even got a denman brush to help tease out the tight coils at the ends. But then after it dries, I can't manipulate my hair because I get snapping and popping at the ends. Can't retain length this way!!! Help please!

Just out of curiosity what does your hair look like? Do you have a picture? My coils are small and I am in the process of making more videos on YouTube....

Hey girl dont fret I had this problem BAD! when I was newly natural for like 3-4 months. The coiled balls used be so bad I was just ripping them out of my hair!
But it does get better. Try using small perm rods on the ends of your hair so our ends have curl to them but still big enough as to not tangle. You can pin your twist up(similar to Naptural85's way of stretching her hair) but more bobby pins to secure your hair and closer to your ends. Or I have even tried Ciprians's way of m&S your heads and wrapping them in between a bobby pin which was helpful but still be cautious with all these esp. the last 2. Another Solution could be to African Thread Your Twist!
I do this when I need moderate stretch but am to lazy to really thread my hair. I hope this helped!
-Dont know hair type!&Don't wanna- Just have a lovely assortment of coils and curls of all sizes:afro:
