Hello! I'm new to all this, so you will have to bare with me. Basically, I have type 3C curls and although I love them, I get bored of the same styles I can have it in. I'd like my hair straight, but when I straighten it, because of its length it takes 2-3 hours to straighten but then only lasts for about half an hour before going all wispy and witch like. I've recently been reading about having hair relaxed, although by some of the reviews I have read, I don't like the idea of using all the chemicals on my hair, and it also lasts so long as well! I don't think I'd be able to deal without my curls for ages. I know I sound so fussy saying all this, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas that would keep my hair straight for a shorter period of time than it would be if I relaxed it. Thank you very much! :)

Ps- I'm only 16, therefore I need advice and guidance as my mum has completely different hair to me, and doesn't really know what to suggest. Thank you!

    Welcome!

For permanent straightness you would need a relaxer, for longlasting loosening of your curls you might try a keratin straightening. Anything else is likely to revert as soon as it gets damp be that from humidity, rain or sweat.

There is tons you can do to curly hair, loads of styling ideas on YouTube and in the book 'Strictly Curls'.
