Help, my curls goes flat!

jiggiijiggii Posts: 1Registered Users
I'm trying to cut down on my shampooing routine, but my hair always go flat after a day or two.

After a shower I'm a 3a, but during the week my curl reduces to a 2b and frizz bonanza begins. Sometimes even a 2a during summer.

I've been doing this for a while and I can go up to a week without my hair getting greasy, but I thought my curls would stay when my hair got used to it. I only comb my hair when it's dry, right before i shampoo it, meaning once a week-ish.

Does anyone know what I need to do to make them stay?

There are a lot of us that wet, use a rinse out and style every day. For some, it's really hard to achieve "second" day hair. I'm too perfectionistic about my hair. Have the time to make sure it's at it's best all of the time.

One of the first things you want to do is determine you hair properties. Here's a link to help Curly Hair Basics | Live Curly Live Free It's the best way to choose ingredients/products. If you're using the right products/techniques, have a good haircut--you have a better chance of achieving multi day hair. Even under the best of circumstances, it may, or may not be achievable.

Welcome! What are your hair properties, and dew points/ humidity? Do check out the stickies on the Newbies board and the general haircare board.

There's nothing wrong with washing your hair a couple of times a week if that gives you the best hair, just use a gentle cleanser not a harsh commercial shampoo.
