Anyone use curling irons?

Wanting to curl or straighten hair, but still use CG approved products. Do i skip heat protectant, or if i need it, should i start shampooing my hair with a sulfate shampoo?

Always use heat protecting products/ ingredients - CG friendly ones include glycerin, propylene glycol, hydrolysed protein and some polyquats. You do not need sulphates to remove silicones, cocoamidopropyl betaine will remove them fine.
2a-2c, medium texture, porous/ colour treated. Three years CG. Past bra strap length heading for waist.

CO-wash: Inecto coconut/ Elvive Volume Collagen
Treatments: Komaza Care Matani, coconut/ sweet almond/ fractionated coconut oils, Hairveda Sitrinillah
Leave in: Fructis Sleek & Shine (old), Gliss Ultimate Volume, various Elvive
Styler: Umberto Giannini jelly, Au Naturale styling gelee
Flour sack towel, pixie diffuse or air dry.
    Experimenting with: benign neglect

So if i buy any ordinary heat protectant, the low poo will take it out? :)

What about silicones in conditioners, and other products? :) and if im supposed to avoid humectants, is aloe a bad idea to try in a styling product or fsg (wanting to really see if my hair likes or dislikes it, but if its a major humectant that will fluff up my hair, then ill pass!)
