inversion method & coconut oil

pinkmouse09pinkmouse09 Posts: 107Registered Users
This is where you put warm oil and massage your scalp then lean over for 4 min a day for 7 days. Apparently the sudden increase in blood flow will give you an inch in a week... I dont expect THAT much though. Note: I've read that you shouldnt do this longer than a week since the intent is to shock your body.

Has anyone tried it? What were your results?
Seems crazy but I've seen a lot of Youtubers saying it worked for them... So I figure its worth a shot. I will be using coconut oil.

Today is day 1 and I can feel my scalp tingling already. I will post before and after pics!

I just started it Friday night and I'm hoping it will work :) If not oh well :D lol The way I'm doing mine is the typical 4 mins upside down and using olive oil and while I'm upside down I do massage a little bit just to make sure I'm getting flow.

I actually had planned to start oiling my ends every night before I wrap it in my satin cloth anyway so this just adds to my scalp health too! Oh and I'm not sure if you're supposed to do this while doing the inversion challenge but I'm washing my hair everyday with f.a.s.t. shampoo and conditioner to make my hair grow. (it does work but results vary and it doesn't work extremely well on me but I'm not picky growth is growth lol) I know some ppl say washing with shampoo everyday will dry it out but f.a.s.t. should be used everyday for maximum results and last time i did it for 30 days I got some growth :) and besides I always follow up with my own leave in conditioner and my hair comes out great!

Anyway I'm not sure if the inversion method will work but I hope it does! I'll come back and let you know how it works for me :D

Alright ladies (and gents) *drum rolls* My hair has definitely seemed to grow an inch it touched just the bottom of my bra strap when I got a trim Friday afternoon on the 20th. I started that same night doing the regimen I stated earlier and now it goes about an inch past it! Oh and a note I should tell you is the last 2 days I had wet my hair with warm/almost hot water because my hair didn't feel like it absorbed the oil as well unless it was wet so I figured maybe the hot water would open the follicles to absorb the bit of oil and I think for me it worked much better that way. :)

A side note I'd like to share as well is that today also marks my 1 year anniversary of my hair growth journey! Here's a pic of the past year just wanted to share with everyone :D

    21ojlw.jpg

I think I'll do this once a month just to help growth and I will definitely oil my ends every night and wrap it in my satin cloth!!! Good Luck on your hair growth journey everyone <3

What time of day did you do it? I'm just wondering about going to bed with oil in my hair or rinsing it out immediately afterwards (does water work or did you need shampoo of some sort?)

    Thanks!

I did mine at night time and I liked to leave it in overnight the same way I would do a regular hot oil treatment and I'd wash it out the next morning and let it air dry then repeat the cycle :)

Well this actually worked for me. I did it last month and got the in h in a week. I waited four weeks to do it again and got another inch this past week. I'm so glad that it's easy to do and effective. I haven't heated the oil though. Just as it is. I figure the 2-5 min massaging is enough heat for me :)

One more thing.... I stand and lean over so as to get a good hamstring stretch at the same time. I watch you tube videos for the four minutes and the time flies by :)

Okay, so I tried it for two days, and didn't go through with it. I was so exhausted that week.

I also didn't like all of the oil going down my neck and in my face and in my EYE. Haha! Coconut oil gets EXTREMELY runny when heated up. & I refuse to wash my hair everyday. MORE work.

But, at the beginning of next month, I'm doing a wig challenge, so I'm going to try it then, with my braids in. That way I can rinse all of that oil out without any problems.

Maybe you put too much oil, you don't always need oil esp if there's still some from the day before.

I did what usually do. I just never actually heated up the oil to wear it felt warm, just to room temperature. So, it was like super runny.

Had no oil in there the day before.

The braids will be better though...

I think you put too much oil. You only place a dime size amount to finger tips and massage scalp. No need to wash out in morning. Unless you have very oily hair. I never washed my hair during that week just on Sunday. The small amt of oil absorbs quickly.

See, I have very thick hair and I'm slightly OCD about my hair. I feel like I will miss a whole bunch of spots, so I use an applicator bottle.

But, I will consider it though. Thank you!

I personally think it would work even without the oil. Just do the upside down position for four minutes for seven days straight. You cannot exceed the four minutes or the seven days. I think you would be surprised... An inch of growth is so worth it :)

I'm doing mine again and tomorrow is my last day and I'm pretty certain I've grown another inch of hair :) Can't wait to check :D

Yeah, I was thinking that also. That it might work without the oil, but I didn't want to half do anything.

If anyone is doing it without oil, let me know please. :)

Sorry for the super late response! Yes this did work for me. I didn't remember to take any pictures though, sorry :( Didn't get an inch, but my roots have grown out! Even if it didn't work, it's still great to use oil! :)

I did the inversion method I also took biotin and I did the ghe although not every day because I was scared of moisture overload and surprisingly my hair grew a whole inch and my sides grew aswell but the sides need to thicken up however I feel that is down to the damage I have done over the years oh yeah I am somewhat of a product junkie so I also used liquid amino acid in my conditioner, I am very pleased with the results and intend to do it every month, I am not at the stage where I am ready to take pictures but once my sides reach a reasonable length I will display my progress currently my hair at the back reaches midway of my neck and my sides that not damaged reaches beneath my ear and the front reaches below my eye this s since my once inch hair growth :wav:
