is the title misleading? did she offer to babysit so she could have s*x with them or did she have s*x with them while babysitting (you know, when she was " intoxicated on several substances including marijuana, vodka, beer and champagne")? I'm wondering if this was isolated or if other charges will be pending (if she often looked after kids)....

I think she offered to babysit so she could have sex with them, then tried to claim her judgment was impaired when she did it so they wouldn't give her a longer sentence due to intent and premeditation.

Maybe other parents will come forward too. But I hope there aren't other victims.

Girl, you post the craziest stuff!

Maybe it's not so crazy; I know quite a few guys who lost their virginity very young to much older babysitter figures. Tho they were more like 9-11.

I'm not sure why boys who are teenagers (in the article) would need someone to watch them while their mothers went to church. I was staying home alone, for many hours at a time, since I was 10ish. And most churches would have something set up for kids while the adults did their thing, if their mothers didn't want to l leave them.

Yeah, I think the title is misleading bc I didn't see how it was proven that she planned to have sex w/ them. But yeah, I had a gf who was in her early 40s and she was seriously hot for two of her daughter's male friends who were about 16. I guess it happens.

I'm confused by the story also. First of all it doesn't say that she said she intentionally went their to have sex with the boys. She said she was intoxicated and she felt they took advantage of her. Secondly, there was a lot of stuff she took. I wonder if she took the booze and drugs before she got there or while there. You would think the other moms would have smelled it on her when she got there or when they got back. Thirdly, how did it come out that she was HIV positive?

I had some of the same questions you did.

But if a 40-something man was "hot for" a 16yo girl, he'd be called a pervert or child molester (by me anyway).

Given that it was NYE she probably drank while they were there. Many churches have NYE services that last for hours and hours. They can be there from 6 or 7 pm until 1 or 2 am, sometimes longer. That might be why the parents left the teenage boys with someone, in hopes they wouldn't get into any NYE trouble... That didn't work. :(

Not good. I wonder how her being HIV positive came out as well. That's not something you just throw around. I can't even tell responding medic's that a hemorrhaging patient is HIV positive.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I guess I thought it was sort of a given that many men are hot for 16 y/o girls. :shaking:

Is it possible the boys technically raped this woman (since she was so intoxicated)?

I'm guessing it was probably a "booyah" on top of the bombshell she dropped on their mothers that she slept w/ them.

But wouldn't it also be tested for when an accusation of rape is made?

I agree. I think a lot of men are attracted to 16 year old girls. There are many who won't admit it.

If she was raped I would think she would have said so. She did say she felt they took advantage of her because of her condition, but didn't say rape.

But I think legally that is a definition of rape...sex w/ someone who is so intoxicated that their judgment is impaired.

I agree and I'm surprised she didn't push this.

    Does she have a lawyer?

    So odd!!!!

    1) Why was she baby sitting teenage boys? Seems more like they would go there to hang out?

    2) If she did indeed rape them, why is the sentence only a year?

That's a booyah and a half! Not all of the article loaded when I looked at it the first time. Just saw that the boys tested negative, and will be re tested every 6 months. Gah! That's enough to give them a heart attack.

It didn't actually say their ages, did it? (My phone service is crazy today and I want to make sure I didn't miss something else). It just said teenagers which could be on the lower end... 13. My parents would leave me alone for so many hours when I was that age but if they were going to something that lasted well into the night, which that service could have, they would have left me with someone. Especially after I watched Animal House when they were gone and got the bright idea to poke a hole in a coke can and attempt to drink it that way, like they did with beer in the movie. They came home to a soaked daughter and kitchen. Back on track... I don't know why she is just getting a year. Sentencing in these situations is often off, and I don't think it's treated quite as seriously with boys. If an older man ended up with 2 teenage girls in bed, said he was intoxicated and taken advantage of, he would be laughed out of court. She was the babysitter, not a sex ed instructor. And in most situations teenagers are not buying the drinks. The adult with them is.

When I was 20, I went out with one of my friends. She was older than me (and bought the beer). We returned to her house, opened up her daughters bedroom door (she was out and I was staying in her room that night) and a woman I knew was having sex with her 12 year old son, in her daughters bed. She was my age. She said he was her soul mate, he had wooed her, and she wanted to marry him. She was screwed up, to say the least. The parents had to threaten her with legal action. She tried to get him to run away with her. She eventually moved. I'm surprised they did not take her to court. The boys father was a lawyer, but again, boys tend to get a pat on the back from other men even though the situation is really messed up.

^ I still want to gouge my eyes out with something when I think of that night. Disgusting.

    Um?!??!?! OMG....no words!!!!

I'm confused though who was with who? Not her own son I assume?

Oh, sorry for the confusion. No! Not her own son. A girl my age (at that time), 20, who I went to school with, was in bed with her 12 year old son.

To give a little background w/o rambling on. This woman's house was in the middle of a neighborhood full of my friends, she was a former hippie, she had 3 kids, one was close to my age, and her house was a big hang out for me and my friends from high school on. Again, she bought the beer :) The person who slept with her son was someone my friends and I went to school with, she had been there on a few occasions, and apparently had started coming by when we were out (we had several ladies nights out at the local bars, for many years) to spend time with her 12 year old. Do note, the father was always home so the boys were not left alone. Yeah... The rest went from there. From play station to ... Just, gross, and a complete shock to all who knew her.

Absolutely. That was one of the strangest things I have ever walked in on, and I've walked into some really strange things. No, the mom was no where near perfect. The woman had done way too many drugs in the 60's, and was still wild as wild can be. The whole neighborhood was wild. It always has been a huge party street, always will be, but still... Most of us saw her younger children like little brothers. He was 8 when I first met him. He grew up in a dysfunctional home for sure, but was looked out for by many. That just turned my stomach. I couldn't do anything but walk back downstairs and flip out, and his life went down hill from there.
