Sheer Cover/Bare Minerals Makeup

Has anyone ever tried either of these lines of makeup. How are they as far as being used as a foundation? Do they give good coverage? Does it last all day? I'm leaning more towards the Sheer Cover as it seems a better value for my money but was wondering if anyone has tried it.

I just saw the infomercial on Sheer Cover about a week and a half ago and placed an order. I'm such a product junkie..LOL Then I started hearing about the Bare Minerals and someone on here said the BM gives better coverage than the SC. I'm debating on whether or not to go ahead and order the BM and just send the SC back. Decisions, decisions. Please let me know if you hear of anyone using both. I don't know which to choose.

There's a lengthy post on this started by Scarycurl over on the Non-Hair board, which I've bumped for you. It's titled "Could this be the perfect foundation?"
Hair type: Completely confused: mostly 3a, some 3b parts, and even 2 in places; very fine and thin.
Products: Elucence clarifying & MBC; CK, F/X Curl Booster Fixative Gel (when I can find it)

I got the Sheer Cover in the mail today....hated it. It felt like crushed chalk. I didn't like the texture or the smell of it enough to even put it on my face. I'll be ordering BE today. Happy B-Day to me;)

Well, I can't absolutely guarantee that you'll love the BE (of course, I am hoping though), but you will be happy to learn that no BE product (except lipstick) has any discernible scent that I've ever noticed.

I know nothing is ever guaranteed..LOL After watching the BE informercial though, it just seemed like the powder blended right in to the skin on the woman's hand. It seemed so soft and silky looking. When I tried this on my own hand with the Sheer Cover, it just caked on top of my skin and didn't seem to blend at all.

I'm placing my order today. Thanks so much for the tips on how to choose colors. You've been a huge help, Sweetpickles!

Scarycurl, I think the type of brush you use also makes a big difference. While I love the brushes that come with BE, I've found something better for the foundation. It's a taklon (that's what the bristles are made of) foundation brush that I got at Sally's for about $10. It provides more even, consistent coverage.

I've talked so much about this stuff, so I can't remember if I've posted, so apologies if I'm repeating myself...there is a bit of a learning curve to using the foundation. It could take a little while to perfect your application and color. When you get it, try not to make any kind of a judgement until you've played around a lot with different amounts and techniquesand shades. A lot of people tend to be heavy-handed and use too much at first, and then dislike how heavy it looks. I actually had the opposite problem at first--so paranoid about using too much that I was using too little! It's not hard, just a very different kind of product to get used to.

Hi there I use the Bare Essentials make-up line the foundation and I have to say it gives very good coverage for me. I have some broken capillaries on my nose and acne marks and it covers it up naturally . I love the fact that it is 100 % mineral based and natural and how it has a sunscreen blocker UVA/UVB protection in it. I would give it a try and see how you like it .

    Hope this helps :)
