What worked and what didn't?


Hit: Hairitage Hydrationation Marshmelloe fluff-as a leave-in/styler
Prelim hit: EcoCustard Argan Oil-so far so good!

Miss: Hairitage Hydration Twist Gel-the scent is stank. Couldn't get past the perfumery flowery lingering scent.
Miss: HE Hello Hydration-this still doesn't work for me. Made my hair hard.
Miss-Biotera gel-used as a styling serum for this humidity. Flakes, crust. Awful.

Miss:
Profolla Silk Moisturizing conditioner. Made my hair hard, squeaky and rough. Plus the bottle label didn't match the ingredients on the web site. Sending it back for a refund.

Hello Hydration made my hair hard. Throwing it away.

NBD Cosmetics Avocado/honey conditioner. Made my hair rough and squeaky.

Hit. Yes there is one.
Botanical Spirits avocado butter with coconut oil added to it. Divine.
Coconut oil. My hair loves this oil, better than castor oil. What took me so long to figure this out??

I've tried plenty this summer so here we go!

Hits:
-Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratin Intensive treatment
This stuff rocks !!! My hair was left so soft and strong and not crazy brittle or dry or anything, I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone in need of protein ! & it smells pretty good as well I might add

-Paul Mitchell's Curls full circle leave in conditioner
I went to Armstrong McCall with a friend whose a hair dresser so I got this for like 5 bucks & I am in love ! It feels great and had the perfect amount of slip! However it has a super fake perfumey scent. I use it with Taliah Waajid Great Detangler

-Jane Carter Nourish and Shine
My hair is naturally extremely thick and dry and my hair melts when I use this stuff . I recommend it ! Smells of citrus fruit.


Miss:
- Curls: Coconut Curlada Conditioner
Yikes... My hair did not respond well to this at ALL . My hair felt extremely filmy after using this which I found strange...

- Beautiful Textures: moisture butter
I've used this about 4 times, to see if my result would change, nope. Too many silicones . It dries my hair out, so I will definitely be donating this product to a friend. Smells good though !

Hit: DB sweet cocoa bean smoothing cream, coconut oil, and ST murumuru moisture guru for twisting (in that order)! Such a moisturizing combo.

Hit:

iii Sisters of Nature Lengthening Crème. I got a sample and purchased. It does help with shrinkage. Not 100% but it has helped. In the areas that shrink the most, 30%, and in the areas that don't, 40%. Softens my edges, too and nothing does that. I'll probably always buy it for that.

My hair is coarse and porous and wiry. I can handle a lot of products. My only con is that the shine value is low.

-Cleans very well and I was confused at how not stripping it was.

Hit/miss: Yes to Blueberries Hair Repair conditioner
-very moisturizing when used in conjunction with other conditioners, but offers little to no slip on it's own. And I like my conditioners to have slip.

Healthy Hair Plus Nourish deep conditioner
I've tried 2 conditioners from this company and I'm done. This was one of the worst conditioners EVER. This and the Profolla line are horrible products. Sent it back for a refund.

Curl Junkie Daily Fix

I really need to stop buying this stuff. I tried adding aloe vera juice to it, but that didn't work. Make my hair hard and tangled.

Hit: Deep conditioning with SM purification mask with coconut oil on top. My hair felt like silk when I rinsed it out.

Hit: using a leave-in that is drenched with silicones. My frizz is gone bye bye. I have been using Curls Unleashed leave-in.

Surprisingly this is not as moisturizing as the Hair Sorrell spray. Plus the bottle doesn't have a trigger spray which makes it hard to spray out.

Hit: Adding tresemme natural to my rhassoul clay mix.

Semi hit: Beija Flor naturals Creme brulee for kinks,curls,and coils and the Maracuja Milk leave in/ moisturizer. These products are very oily and they will be excellent to use during winter time. I need more time to use them to rate whether I really like it or not. But if you like qhemet biologics alma and olive heavy cream you may like these products. My hair was very soft and fluffy.

Hit: Mixing Olive Oil with Curl Junkie Curl Rehab (in the jar & letting it sit.. not during application)
man, somehow makes it even more. Ive been getting such consistently good hair & long lasting moisture using it these past few weeks.
Im gonna try that with some of my other lesser than products I need to use up.

Hits: Softee aloe Vera curl activating gel, suave tropical coconut co, garnier fructis strength/length co (HGs for me)

Misses: la looks sports gel (leaves hair hard) , Softee olive oil conditioning gel (leave hair mushy) Softee coconut oil (thrown out. Gave me a headache when left in hair overnight), Softee castor oil (thrown out. Gave me a headache when left in hair overnight)

I just had to comment that I thought I was the only one with 4c texture in the oddest place. Mine is right in front where my edges are above my ears. Two spots in front and I think a couple small spots in the back. I'm guessing I'm 4b everywhere else but I still can't pinpoint my texture. You might be my hair twin! Maybe I should try your hits!

On the fence: curl junkie curls in a bottle! over CJCCCL - I think it weighs down my fine hair but I like the softness when it dries

Miss: curl junkie curl queen gel - made my hair super hard and dry
